1.28 out, a few features have been added since I last talked about them. There's a new food item, the Christmas cake, that only works on 12/24-25 ingame. It's got a tiny little Santa Maricha on top which I'm not quite sure if it's a real Yukkuri or not. It's extra filling but also spoils the "taste bud" stat (which is confirmed to exist by the dev and he plans to add it visibly to the debug menu someday) to a ridiculous amount, to the point that feeding it the cake again will have the Yukkuri think it's trash. Powerful stuff. The dev is planning to add more "sim" elements to the game like a currency system, and this Christmas cake is an example of something you'll be able to buy in the future. He also says he plans to finish the game in 2018. Another new feature is you'll be able to feed the Yukkuri while it has burnt feet, and if it passes the "poo poo" threshold, its poo poo will leak out uncontrollably.

Also, can someone help me translate "かせぎの すくない かいぬし だと くろう するのぜ"? I can't figure out what this means for the life of me.

The only thing I can see in that sentence is "Lack of earnings causes trouble for the owner no ze"
I don't know if it makes sense in context though

I finally managed to play this game again
Did it get faster recently, or is my new computer that powerful?
I'm so used to play it at 10 FPS, now that I got three times that I can't even keep up with the game

is there a special trick to get the text to work for .28?

It seems the developer is shipping the game with a precompiled game dump (the one you get from running the second executable), so the game can be run as soon as it is unpacked
To get the english text simply unpack the translation and run the dumper

I must be slow, I still couldn't get it to work is could you tell me in a more detailed way,

If you have other versions/downloads of the game, delete them, then get a new copy of the latest version
After unpacking it there should be two executable files
Unfortunately I can't tell you the names because I don't have SJIS support, but unless the author changed anything they should be the same referenced in an older post in this topic
One of those executable starts the game, while the other is used to speedup loading times
Try to run them and see which runs the game, but don't actually start anything and close any window as soon as possible
Once you've found which one is the game, take the translation and change the files in "text" with the translated ones
If you don't get any error, run the executable that is not the game
You should get a message box saying something, close it and close the window too
Now you can play the game in english

I can't for the life of me get any of the pomf.cat links to work. Bad certificate errors all over the place, and no functional way to get past them. Is a mega.nz link doable?

If I temporarily add them as an exception I can download the files
Though it's strange, the pomf.cat homepage doesn't give any error

So it's been a while since I last updated this, and a few new features have been added since 1.28.

>Taste bud spoiled level is added to debug mode (It's 舌肥えレベル and it goes from 1-1000)
>You can take an accessory and hang it in the air, leaving the Yukkuri to keep jumping at it until it gives up
>Yogurt item added that cures constipation
>Feature added that lets you eject Yukkuris from a house by force
>If you have a sandpaper floor and the Yukkuri goes down the slide it will get hurt by it
>She will also react negatively if you take her off the slide
>It loses health more rapidly if you neglect it (not sure how this fully works, but I left it alone and it woke up after peeing after a day and it just kept losing more and more health, like up to 12 a second)
>If a pregnant Yukkuri dies it's kids on the stalk die soon after
>Can finally remove the stalk after it's been cut off
>Able to use the rotor when it's forced down
>After you cut off its peni peni, then use the rotor on it, it will have a new reaction where it misses its missing phantom "limb" (You feel it too, don't you?)
>You can remove the accessory when it's sleeping and it won't notice
>Can remove accessory while the Yukkuri is hanging
>Yukkuri has crumbs in its mouth while eating food that's too good for it (usually happens the same time it's doing pee pee)
>More interactions between Yukkuri
>Probably some more stuff I'm forgetting

Definitely say it's worth checking out again.

I doubt that's it. The line activates after a scummy Yukkuri eats food and is begging for sweets. The line is supposed to be synonymous with "Next time give sweet sweets no ze!"

Anyone ever cracked if it ever won't ask for seconds? All I picked up when I played this would do that.

Also, did the game speed improve any? If I left it running to do my stuff it'd slow down to about half what it should run as, and to me that made it unplayable.

There are a few times where it never asks for seconds and is thankful for what you give it. I haven't tried reproducing it, but I presume it has something to do with high niceness, low scumminess, or low taste bud level. The game has been much better optimized in the past few months and I'd say it's worth trying to see if it's improved on your end.

Late bumping, but it means "an owner that doesn't invest effort [in raising his pet] will cause [Marisa] to suffer noze?", or something along the line.

Does this thing have a pause button?

Yes, it's in the menu somewhere
I can never remember where though, and it's hard to find

By the way, thanks for the translation
I'm putting some effort into translating the menu, but I can't use existing decompilers and I have to write my own

I checked that months ago, but anytime the window is not on focus the game grinds to half speed. So coupled with its gameplay I just can't get into it - it can take pretty much entire weeks to get them potty-trained, and the buggy nature is a huge issue with it (you need to punish them until they realize what they're doing wrong, but this makes them afraid of you and even messes up the routines you're trying to fix - like being stuck being afraid running away from you when it had realized it needed to go into the toilet, so the routine isn't completed and as a result it'll never commit to memory what it just learned, as well as messing up their own habits something fierce [if it's on the toilet or afraid at the time it'd be hungry, then their counter will go entirely out of whack since the time count for the hour of the day is independent of these actions, and even if food has already been served they'll just keep saying they're hungry and won't respond even if you hover them over food])
