One Yukkuri Place

Adding to the Wiki

Posted under General

So, I've decided to contribute a little by going through the tags and adding a basic description for them.

I have a question about the non_violent tag.
If the image is part of a series that turns violent, does that preclude the image from having the non_violent tag, or is it still eligible for it?

No, which is why there's the non_violent danger combination. Like if a person is making a fist in a threatening gesture, but no harm has happened yet. With the sole exception of family_friendly, all tags should only describe the current image. (Family_friendly being a tag that means no harm can occur to the yukkuri within the image/series, implied or otherwise)

Oh, if an admin or mod want to sticky this topic, we could use it for anyone who has questions about adding to the wiki.

So, if you have a question on that topic, ask away!

True Happiness is a good example of the non_violent/family_friendly distinction. The beginning pages appear to be family_friendly, but is definitely not due to the content of the overall series (and somebody looking for family_friendly would certainly run into the violence if only those pages were tagged family_friendly).

I added some examples of the "other factors" that cancel out the family friendly tag, from discussions in the past. Things like sex (I mean peni/mamu style- rubbing method is up to interpretation and would really depend on how graphic it is), 'shit' etc., and nudity. It's also been said a number of times, in situations where it's unclear, consider the artists general output.

Family_friendly is exactly what it means. Something you can show to your mother or daughter without the nagging question of "should they see this?" I wouldn't tag any of kiri's works family_friendly as a result. :)

Gone forever, I assume. The type of wiki that shimmie has and danbooru has appear to be completely different. A shame, as I put a lot of work into that page.

We can probably dig it up from the old shimmie site, it's still there. We have to talk to shii about it though.

Ah, right. That would be great. I think it's the artist page and the story pages that we really need, and the rest works better using danbooru features.

Actually, there's a few things missing from the wiki as well. Ex: the story list is better when we refer to the google site Hourai's been working on. Thoughts?

Can I make a simple request? Could we keep all the character entries as neutral as possible? I personally think it should describe the filling type, accessory, catch phrase variant, and the trait(s) that set it apart from the crowd (and maybe most common pairings). If there's a "shithead" variant (like Deibus) they should be linked in a "see also" block, and if no wiki entry does exist for those, then maybe they could be mentioned in the wiki page.

Also, maybe for the Anko tags (and similar) we can stick a short summary of them in it.

I don't really see many of the entries going off on KILL THEM ALL!!! or THIS IS THE SHITTIEST TYPE OF YUKKURI I HATE THEM or LEAVE THEM ALONEEEEEE, and I don't think anyone was really planning on using the pages to do that. Mind, when putting information like filling type on there there's often conflicting/multiple ones (although only really for the less featured yukkuris) or aren't clearly definite.

Great, thanks. All the pages except for the stories appear to be missing, though. It's the links page that I'm mostly concerned with, as there's a lot of information about where to find artists and pictures, which could be very useful.

Well I meant for future ref, that's all. For ones where the filling varies we could include a list.

There's a few other places that could be useful while building up the <strike>yukkuribooru</strike> OYP wiki:

http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/yukkuri-shiteitte-ne

- Might need some more edits to make it more accurate, but as a knowyourmeme article, it's good enough as a capsule summary.

http://yukkuri.wikia.com/wiki/Yukkuri_Wiki

- Hopelessly outdated. There's also the fact that it's hosted by Wikia, not exactly a good place to be.

http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Take_it_easy

- Surprisingly thorough and informative, for a single page article. A lot of stuff can be used as a guide for articles here, if not used already.

Ah, so like this one?

Yep, they specifically mentioned (though we only knew that after the fact it was translated) a "mister thread" which implies the forums where this was originally posted. Perhaps it was an tongue-in-cheek attempt to COMBO BREAKER/end the thread?
