Biggest takeaway from that is that Bluesnow wants them to recognize everything around them, so you have them saying "Mister ghost", "Let's go to the mister house over there", recognizing the toy, asking to put their braids back together, etc.

He also says that since it should be a pretty substantial update that he expects a whole lot of work and that it's around 5% done.

I got lucky and saw how they refresh.
It was pretty crazy.
The end result is a Marisa getting her partner Reimu and one of her daughters pregnant.

The strangest shit happened to me this morning.

So I was playing the most recent Android version and went to the Store. I sold all the yukkuris except Chen, and then I decided to play around with it a little before getting it pregnant. So I feed Chen with three hearts and it naturally gives birth to a seemingly-normal ko. Anyway, I decide to sell Momma Chen (not before raising its value) and feed the ko two cakes before bringing it home.

Little Chen eats the cakes, and then I pick it and head to the door. But as soon as I spawned back home, somehow Chen had Patchouli's hat on, their feet were completely charred, and was in severe pain.

One thing I should note is that Chen's momma was previously attacked by Remilia when I used the Reset Yukkuris Position button to get them all out of their cages, and I had to pick the green hat from the stands to pacify it because I couldn't find her original hat. I can understand if giving momma Chen another hat might glitch the baby's hat (even though the ko had its trademark hat), but how do you explain the charred feet?

Feeding the burned Chen with hearts also reduced it's Lifespan meter down, and as soon as it reached 0 it slowly started losing health and value! (something that I was wondering about a while ago in regards of the yukkuris' Lifespan meter in the game). You can decrease the process by giving it lots of Juice bottles, and you can outright stop the countdown by feeding it with cakes.

So that's one mystery down, now to investigate how you can get to raise their Sexual Desire meter.

And speaking of their refreshing animation and pregnancy chance, it seems that grabbing them and force-rubbing them on their partner speeds up the process, but it's still a matter of luck if they initiate their refreshing animation. Not even bringing the Pregnancy settings all the way to 1/2 seems to change things. Here's hoping that BlueSnow improves the AI enough to make things more interesting.

the behavior i would like to see is a "nesting" type behavior where a pair claim a spot build a nest put in treasures bred in it and defend it. I would like to also see the new borns being left in the nest and not coming out for a while. and the parents taking them food. An assiocated behavior cool to see is that the C class or the Yus with no love for the player to puff up at the player. while S class or ones with a lot of love for the player to invite the player to "come see precious little ones". I don't think bluesnow is ever on here but if he is i hope he sees this and thinks its a good idea

That sounds neat.

What does the refreshing animation even look like? I grabbed some of them and kept tickling them, and the only thing that happened was that they got a bump on their "belly" without changing their 'getting pat' animation. I tried to just keep watch over them for long periods of time but even on 3 stars for S Desire nothing happened.

From my experience, they start saying unusual lines, they get really, really agitated, and one of them starts pissing. I don't recall if the pissing yu is the one getting pregnant, or if it's the other way around.

But yeah, once they get pregnant, they either grow that noticeable bump in their belly, or they grow that sprout in their forehead.

Try what I did, grab one of them and rub it in front of the other one while doing the holding animation with the right hand. It still takes a while, even if both of them have 3 stars for S Desire and the pregnancy chance is brought all the way to 1/2.

How do i make two yukkuri breed in Yukkuri Diary?

You place them in a room and wait patiently.

It used to be more common, but this days is more of a hit or miss. You can increase the baby probabily in 'extra settings'

About the only way I got them to breed more easily was to shove a bunch of 3-star S Desire Yukkuri in the same room. Sooner or later something happens.

It also helps how people mentioned here to get them together in your hand. If you put two in the palm of your hand and keep petting them either with tickles or carressing, it's as good as done after a while (one of them will get a bump in their "stomach").

To what extent do the yukkuri have behavior rather than bouncing around randomly? Does their behavior indicate any concept of individual relationships or affinity between family members, or are they equally likely to interact with any yukkuri nearby? Do they have any propensity to sleep in the cardboard boxes scattered around? Affinity to the same box? If they can't swim is it possible to teach them to swim? Is it possible to modify their behavior in any way other than making them temporarily frightened?

I think there's some kind of family system, but I'm not sure as I've seen parents refreshing with their children...
However sometimes I hear yukkuri call for little ones.
About the boxes and other "houses", recent versions show that yukkuri go inside one of them during the night (even dosus. I have a dosu Cirno in the park and she was clipping through the box), if possible. Not sure if they prefer a certain nest over another.
Swimming seems to be a trainable stat, however yukkuri with a low swim level will get hurt from staying in water, so it's probably going to be a difficult task.
That's all I know.
