Thought this was interesting and useable for the community's yukkuri-science/logic/fan-fic.
TL;DR: Matabele warrior ants carry their wounded home from battles and said wounded partake in other campaigns after recovery; but this rescue behavior is only exclusive to that sortie. If an injured ant strays from battle and is not encountered with the returning force that day, armies marching out the next day would ignore the stray.
