In case anyone else finds it useful, here's the version of the `text` folder that I'm currently using.

The main thing it adds are lines for adult yukkuri (those were lacking before probably because they're not the focus of the game). This isn't a conscientious translation. In some places it's just a best guess, and in many places I assumed the adult lines were de-slurred versions of the child lines without bothering to check. I also changed the Reimu lines, removing the "ze" and replacing her talk about her hat and her golden hair. Some new child lines are also translated.

One time I boxed a komarisa and when I thawed a koreimu she ran over to the box and started licking it. That's the first time I saw that behavior and I haven't replicated it in a few trials since. Normally the other yukkuri just puff at me when they notice a yukkuri in a box. Current text folder that I'm using for β1.42: https://a.pomf.cat/cxmjls.zip

I've gotten it to happen again with yukkuri that were actually siblings. It's actually a bit inconvenient because depending on whether the box is in the background or the foreground it might obscure any yukkuri who goes there to lick the imprisoned one.

A lot of the updates past 1.32 are ones having to do with interpersonal relationships, which makes sense that there's now a lot more interaction between Yukkuri. It also means a giant leap in new lines, which means I haven't had time in a while to translate. It's good that you're picking up where I left off, though. Maybe when summer comes I'll jump back on the train, because a lot of these new interactions are fascinating, like how when one Yu kills another a third one might get mad and try to take revenge.

Script translation for β1.43 is up (DL link).

Getting close to 100% "translated". Here are the parts still remaining (plus the child variants of each of these):

Lines that are said by the loser of a fight.

Lines said by a yukkuri when other yukkuri have given it up as dead.

Lines presumably said when the yukkuri has given up on saving some other yukkuri that is not its parent/child/sibling, but I'm not sure if these lines are actually used. What's up with the leading "の"?

Lines presumably said when the yukkuri is going to do rub-rub with some other yukkuri that is not its parent/child/sibling, but I'm not sure if these lines are actually used. What's up with the leading "!"?

Lines which I'm unsure appear in the game anywhere.

Nevermind, just saw a deibu stomp its children to death for pooping outside the toilet, lol.

I-is this happening for real???
I wish I could play it again ;_;

About the leading character, probably the author revised how strings are managed, so sentences built like "<name> is <rest of sentence>" or "<name>'s <rest>" are built by appending the part after <name> to a variable, instead of doing a (extremely slow) substitution of the placeholder words

Thanks, that makes sense. BTW I'm playing with Wine so you should be able to run this on any computer.

Another untranslated line I overlooked:

Script translation for β1.43, version 2. Fixes some grammatical mistakes in the surisuri block, and thanks to EasyV adds translations for adults telling their kids where to shit. Since this text file is primarily for my own use playing the game, added dubious translations for the remaining untranslated Japanese text. (If I couldn't figure out exactly what a line meant when I was looking at the script, I'm sure not going to understand it when it's flashed on the screen for two seconds.)

I used to play with Wine too, but had some issues recently and I'm too lazy to use my free time on fixing them
I'd rather translate something here
I tried playing it on ReactOS and aside from some issues with setting the locale to japanese, it works fine
However playing inside Qemu isn't the best experience (barely 8 frames per second...)

About that line, the variable name says "okazari", so I would guess it's something about yukkuri missing an accessory
Maybe "you quickly be easy" as in taking it easy forever (i.e. death) (don't actually use this translation though)

So far I've never seen a yukkuri attack another over a missing accessory. It might be something planned for the future.

I appreciate the speech translation, but I've noticed the menu translations in the OP don't seem to be up to date. Could we get any help on that end?

That's pretty much impossible unless we reverse engineer the game. Just read the guides, though there may be one or two things missing right now.

I'm trying to see how much discipline I can instill with abuse rather than affection. I can terrify yukkuri into shitting in the toilet, but it seems like no amount of beating will scare them into dragging shit.

That's assuming the whole "training" submenu works at all
Have you ever managed to make a yukkuri stop saying happiness after eating?
Does breeding inherit past knoweledge?

It does, when this game was still pretty new I managed to make a shithead take crap to the toilet after lord-knows-how-many-tries.

Those are actually different things
The "training" submenu contains buttons for "no happiness after eating", "carry your poopoo to the toilet", "hunt practice" and "poopoo dance"
Scolding your yukkuri until it properly use the toilet is a separate command

Yes, that's exactly what I am talking about

When I played it I had no idea you could apply "scolding" to things like hitting them, so I could read it mentioned carrying shit to the toilet in the kanas and went with that.
