Topic: Should "Myon" and "Youmu" be alias?

I don't really know what's the accepted convention when naming yukkuri Youmu
Some pictures are tagged as "Myon", while others as "Youmu", and the two tags are different
I know that Myon is Youmu's ghost, but japanese artists use Myon when referring to yukkuri Youmu
Based on this, should "Myon" be an alias for "Youmu" (or the other way around, it's the same)?

By the way, after this I noticed that "translated_available" and "translation_available" are considered two different tags
I know Dosu made an alias for them, but apparently it wasn't picked up by the system

For all intents and purposes, they're 2 different tags. However the alias should return results properly.

Myon shouldn't be aliased to youmu since its the ghost (but most artists don't draw it). Pictures being tagged as "Myon" when its just youmu is just tagged incorrectly. Yukkuri identifier tags are based on the touhou names, not nicknames.

    I understand
I was wondering because yukkuri artists, not really caring for the ghost, call Youmu "Myon", and there are many comics where she says "Myon is Myon" or "Myon did <thing>"

As for other aliases, I see in the "tag_aliases" page, that there are a number of "queued" entries, which act as different tags instead of being, well, aliased

myon is also the canon nickname for Youmu for japan's touhou fan community, so that's sort of expected.

As for the aliases, technically a job should kick off when the alias is created which automatically runs the tags. It seems like eventually the caching clears up and the tags fix themselves after I kick off the jobs manually. I'm not sure if that has something with the "development mode" bug that we have, but this is sort of the best we got. Sorry about not being able to fix the db but I don't really have enough server experience to dig around too much, and OYP is temperamental enough as is.

Yukkuri Youmu is also depicted using "myon" as an exclaimation; e.g. "Myon! Take it easy, myon!"

I agree with Dosu. If you did that, you'd have to alias "Okuu" to Utsuho.

But Okuu is Utsuho, it's not just a thing that happens in the yukkuriverse, so they should be both the names of the same character regardless if it's a crow or a pastry

Yes, but Okuu is a nickname. There's a "rin" tag but not an "orin"

They're interchangeable really. If you guys want I can setup implication/aliases respectively.
