"Tang" is their food preference. The normal brown food corresponds to Normal tang. Cake or corpses (I guess depending upon the mindset) corresponds to Gourmet tang. Garbage to Poor tang. IME it takes three meals to change from one tang to another. But yukkuri will only eat garbage with 100% hunger and (I think) 50%+ damage.

Marisas are the worst for complacency due to the strong will of Touhou canon and yukkuri fanon. Marisas lose more complacency than others relative to the problem and get pissed-off quicker. I always have morale problems with baby Marisas because their parents (particularly if a Marisa) very rarely clean them after shitting. And Yuunbas never get their fast enough. If I've got one I want to keep, I usually give them an Accel Amp and sell the rest.

I've also notice that a yukkuri in distress affects the disposition of all. Even if it's a shithead getting punishment for trash talking, once they get above a certain amount of damage, none will respond if you tell them "take it easy". I haven't noticed it'll drop the morale of the rest, but I never put up with shitheads long enough to find out.

Tang is quality of filling. No idea why, but It was technically english already and fit so I didnt translate it. Basically, better Tang will result in better selling price and better quality food from mulching (I think). Try abusing while keeping alive to raise tang (I think)

Nope. That's what I thought too earlier. Grilled Sakuya with orange amp, set speed to max, came back a long time later, tang is still normal.

Then I gave a Marisa a cake, 3 meals later, tang is gourmet.

I'm constantly frustrated by how it's impossible to move a yukkuri along the Z axis using the Pick Up tool. Is there something I'm missing?

That's the Y axis you're thinking of!

Btw, I can read hiragana, katakana, and a few kanji.
I can help translating.

In that case, it would be a big help if you could write dialogue for any of the simyukkuri dialog files

The only thing I'm doing right now is finishing Remilia, in notepad++, and to avoid having anyone do the same work twice I would prefer to write her alone.

Also, I mostly just improvise these unless there are phrases that I recognize, I can only read Hiragana and not Katakana, and about 10% of my stuff is actually translated word for word.

I'm resuming now and I remember where I stopped

I was trying to figure out what the heck れみぃになんてことするんだどー meant, and I didn't bother asking for help.

"What are [you] doing to Remii do~?"

My experience, also. Torture didn't change tang, so I associated it with food tolerance, which does change with diet.

Damn, although I can understand what they're saying most of the time, even with slurring, I just can't slur it back to English. Any slurring guides or something?

And I'm translating the common types first (currently on Marisa), then I'll move to rare-types.

Imagine saying the words out loud, changing every 's' to 'sh', 't' to 'ch', 'd' or 'z' to 'j', and 'r' or 'l' to 'w', or whatever else makes you rage the most, then write down how it sounds. That's what I do anyway.

For adult yukkuri change unvoiced sounds to voiced and pretend your nose is blocked instead: 's' to 'z', 't' to 'd', 'p' or 'm' to 'b' and so on.

You said it far better than i could

I didn't even think of imagining it like my nose was plugged ahaha

I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how some of this stuff in the game works. For instance, complacency. It seems that the lower it is, the more miserable they are. Alright, so, how do I raise it? I've got a bunch of yukkuri and they only ever seem to bottom out with complacency and don't like me.

Also, how does one improve a yukkuri's attitude?

There's also a matter of stress. It seems like my adults start to accumulate stress right before they're about to do something, like using the toilet or taking a nap. Having children relieves the stress but I'm not sure if this is intended or not. Is there a reason my adults are building up stress like this?

It seems genetics over environment. Punishment doesn't work on baby shitheads IME. It usually goes like this:

Mawicha Shithead ~400 morale: Insult
Me: Punish
Mawicha Shithead -398 morale: Insult and puff
Me: Punish
Mawicha Shithead ~200 morale and free-falling: Variously cry/insult/say "id hurdz" or "Mawicha ish shcared"
Me: Leave alone, but check morale: 0

Maybe it's too many tries in too short a time, but I figured if you were going to reform one, you couldn't do it in half-steps.

Greeting them at stalk conception or birth helps stop morale loss in the beginning, but IME doesn't help reform them. I can't recall shithead parents greeting their children at birth, and maybe that matters.

I'm having a hard time keeping kotatsu Marisa's alive. Actually I can't seem to get them to move at all. I'd put it on that roller thingy but it crashes the game when I try to delete it and the yukkuri on it doesn't seem to be able to eat on it either.

Any advice?

I guess they're still bugged then.
Simplest solution? Stick an orange amp in them.

Them and aquatic Marisa's. Gotta glue em to an orange ampule and position them perfectly at a feed dispenser just to keep them healthy. Poor things.

In other news, my pitiful attempts at breeding pastry monsters has revealed i Know little of either breeding or pastry monsters. Haven't seen anything higher than Smart and I'm kind of hoping to get a platinum-grade yukkuri in the making at some point. Though it doesn't help when every stalk pregnancy is a miscarriage cuz the stalk apparently isn't connected to anything save for the skin of the parent's forehead. Frustrating.

Also I tried to breed the 'predator' trait to a Nitori. It was highly unsuccessful. I suspect it can't be breeded over. A pity. That'd be a nice touch someday.

Yeah, I've never bred better than Very Nice/Smart. Would like to know if others have seen better than that, and how they did it. Ironically, one of the Very Nice/Smart ones I had was a Deibu.

Someone please incorporate Sheep Marisa: post #61855

I believe that's the current limit of the game, unless someone's willing to go a step further and program a state beyond that, sorta like Platinum.

On that note, the badge system still doesn't work correctly. I can only dispense fake and bronze badges.

I guess I thought there was something like "super nice" as the analog to "super shithead", and maybe "very smart" for the reason you couldn't give better than bronze.
