Marisa: "Even though we were sleeping, why isn't Mister Morning cominnng? We can't take it easy in this darknesssss!"

Reimu. "Yueen! Yueeeen!" "It's scaryyy!" "Marisaaaa~!"

    SUN

Also, I prefer the yukkuris to refer to themselves in third person, so:

Marisa: "Even though yukkuris were sleeping, why isn't Mister Morning cominnng? Yukkuris can't take it easy in this darknesssss!"

    Neth

If Marisa was just talking about herself, I'd agree with you, but when they are talking in plural, I prefer "we".
In this case, it was not clear whom Marisa was referring to, but I think plural makes more sense than singular.

That's the thing with japanese... you can have a sentence without a subject that refers to either the previous subject in the last sentence or a not at all, like in this case.

    S BENZ

Someone else have a go at getting this one 'right' it is sending me 'round the bend trying to use gimp on it.

    poweryoga

Neth has it "right". It comes down to whether you want to use "Yukkuris can't take it easy in this darkness" or "we can't take it easy etc etc"

    Tea

I agree with Neth's, as the use of 'we' seems to flow better.

Does it work better this way?

M: "We did sleep-sleep, so why isn't Mister Morning comingggg? Can't take it easy when it's pitch-blaaaaack!"

Just trying for a more direct use of まっくら.

On a different note, I think the plural of "Yukkuri" is "Yukkuri", but that is my personal preference, again.
