Just gonna say that the text here is basically poetry, or a poem-like passage written in archaic Japanese, which my study for N2 covers absolutely nothing of. The translation is mostly guesswork by looking up in a dictionary and piecing the phrases and grammatical items together, which could very well miss the meaning entirely. Even my years of listening to Waraku Senbonzakura over and over cannot help.
Classical Japanese sounds very cool, high-class and knowledgeable, until you actually have to translate it by yourself. This sucks.

literal translation reads "river", which this is anything but. of course it can just be a literary way to describe the occurence, but I'm not translating this point.
