Yeah the ending is basically a form of flashback explaining the origin of everything.
It's interesting to see a story that focus so much in mold beyond the "The yukkuri got it! it's doomed", i mean there is some explanation, showing counter measures and stuff, that's more than any other story with mold i had seen here.
What I wonder is whether they incinerate Reimu too There were a few things the disease control guys said that seemed to imply there is a cure but then they put Reimu in the same kind of container they used for Marisa and the ko's. So maybe they were just trying to not hurt anon's feelings

I think they have to investigate how deep her mold is before doing anything, but yeah, high probability of her being incinerated as well.
