Reimu is what human would call the irregular yukkuri, smart and hard working.
But she's irregular, and yukkuri don't feel easy around her. She's uneasy in the eyes of common yukkuri and even though she's the best hunter, nobody want to marry her. Everyone calls her "fool" but we should see it in yukkuri's context. Here they probably mean she took the "foolish" way of life, which is by not taking it easy.
It's Marisa's fault. She married Reimu for money (food). She never intended to have any children with Reimu because she's afraid her children will also be uneasy.
I still have question though about why Chen never talked about the rape to the children. She only say their real father.

Kind of a comment towards women in the workforce, isn't it? I know that's a perception of hard-working women in Japan -- that they don't have time/yearn for a family.
