Fish tend to stay away from something loud and high-pitched.
I dunno -- I don't think anything about yukkuri would attract most fish, and wouldn't they be too fragile of a bait to keep on the hook (as noted when the fish attacked the Marisa)?

I heard somewhere that aquatic Marisa's are a bit more durable than other kinds of yukkuri. and since they're in their natural environment, they wouldn't make much of a fuss, and instead their slight movements would serve as an effective attraction (in addition to the gathering bait the guy spread out).

durable in water, yes but tenshis are the penultimate in yu durability since that is tenshi's schtick.
