Considering there are three other chapters planned, I doubt this Flandre is going to do anything significant. Probably kill a parent at best, getting killed at worst. Marisa seems fairly skilled.
Of course, takumi can always pull a three chapters long carnage, but that would be pretty lame.
With a series titled "How Marisa's Family Came to Annihilation", I'm pretty sure everyone already knows how it's ultimately going to end.
I expect Marisa's family to prevail against all odds, killing anyone trying to mess with them as both Reimu and Marisa are faster and more capable creatures than any in the world proportionally speaking.
Seriously, look at the size of that den and all their activities in a SINGLE day (if it is indeed a day). That's like getting 2 humans to walk several miles , digging out and carrying several tons in total of dirt and digging a medium sized cottage-space in the span of one day.
If this is indeed one day, it is a minor plot hole if Marisa and Reimu are not super-yukkuris, LOL.

Honest question, why are you like this? What drives you to post so frequently in the defense of sentient manjuus that essentially exist to be abused, on a website more or less dedicated to yukkuri abuse?

Why are you like this? Why can you not see the fact that I am not defending sentient manjuus but I am making fun of a plot hole?

because no one fucking cares. it doesn't matter. this is the setup to a story about marisa and her family dying horribly. i guarantee you you're the only person who reads this and thinks about how marisa and her family are super yukkuris. it's fucking annoying and you do it all the time.
coolyo294 and canttakeiteasy said some stupid stuff
Because the monotony of the same endings every single time ruins the idea of literary devices.
If you write 100 books on the same subject, and all of them end the same way, then what fun is there in reading them? At what point do you become bored? The 10th book? At what point do you just flip to the end of the book to see if the ending for this book is the same as the last?
A little variation on the subjects would be nice. A little less deus ex machina stupid bad decision suddenly causing total wipe would be nice.
Again, the subject is only as stupid/weak/useless as the author chooses to make them.
Anyway, I like this chapter. A good show of yukkuri finding their home. I like things like this. Simple.

So in other words, he should be more like wasa killer and all the other folks who passionately advocate for sentient pastry abuse? Why not let him be his own man?
You do realize that not every story involving yukkuri has to be a slaughterfest, right? It's why the family_friendly and non_violent tags exist. Different strokes for different folks and OYP happens to be the one place that accommodates it all.
Come to think of it, this whole nonsense argument is precisely why yukkuri haven't been made Touhou canon (and thankfully never will be). ZUN simply ignores it, for the most part.

So you're the guy who keeps downvoting all of canttakeiteasy's self-made works.
This whole nonsense is uneasy and I'd wish you'd knock it off.

Huh, what? What has that got to do with my statement?
I do agree though that I like how Takumi depicted this family as competent enough to survive. However, I dislike the idea that they built that nest in a day because that shit is huge, proportionally speaking. No way in hell two similar sized creatures can move and clear that dirt in a day if they were not as strong as a creature several times bigger than them.
If any regular non-superpowered yukkuri were to attack them and succeed then that would be on the same level of nonsense as black panther putting the silver surfer in an armbar and succeeding.
That is actually a big reason why I visit the site: Different perspectives. Some enjoy, others over-analyze, others yet that froth at the mouth (though those may be mostly gone). Just looking at soft-core gore without other people's input would get dull.
Some people take this Yukkuri things to another level. C'mon guys. If you do not like what other people say, just ignore. Do not scroll down to comments. Simple. This is all a totally fictional thing. Why get angry on each other? About plot / endings: A point of view: I like the abuse stuff and I do not care much about how the story ends. By seeing the draw style sometimes I know who draw it and how it will end. But I just like the way the story goes. This story, for example, dont even have dialogue and I'm really interested. Do I know what will happen? Yes. Do I care? Nope. You can call me a freak but I just like to see the Yus getting f* up lol Of course, I like the dialogue, the plot ... it makes the story funnier. But there is only one thing I'm mostly interested: Yu abuse. There are people who don't like abuse. Will I induce a discussion about it? No. Why do that? I hope you do not take me wrong. It's just opinion.
I know I said it in a forum topic, but I will say it again. I'd rather not see yukkuri become a topic of petty political debate. This is probably another reason why the yukkuri fanbase is fading.

Proportional strength means nothing in that regard. Ants are ridiculously strong for their size and can create immensely complex nests but they're still weak little things that are preyed on by other insects and animals. A remelia, a specialized predator yukkuri, should be able to easily kill two sleeping yus and a baby easily.
Also, going by takumis other works, marisas and reimus are very stupid and panic prone. If the remi just kills one mate or the baby the other ones will be too frightened to do anything.

-_- I made a mistake using "strong" as the word to mean what I wanted to say as my problem is not just the strength but the speed and stamina these two showed enabling them to do what should be impossible for a non super powered creature proportionally speaking.
Even so, I would think my silver surfer armbar by regular old black panther quip should have at least made clear how absurd this depiction of takumi's reimu and marisa was (if this all happened in a day).
To really understand what I mean, imagine yourself as small as a basketball. Now imagine how big this will look like if you were the size of a basketball: http://oyp.yunyah.com/posts/74948?pool_id=1910 and http://oyp.yunyah.com/posts/74952?pool_id=1910 (that's about nearly the size of one and a half floors if you scale it up to human size with a standing area of about at least 30 people). A pair of fit well proportioned soldiers can supposedly dig a trench on soft ground about 5 feet with a standing capacity of about 4 people within 6 to 8 hours). A one foot shellscrape fit ofr one soldier and about less than a foot in height takes a single soldier about 20 minutes to an hour.
Now imagine two people with arms reaching only halfway to their elbow digging a small bungalow sized hole about 1 and a half floors high by pure muscle alone.
So you see how unlikely it is to finish a dugout of that size in 2 whole days let alone a day, if you were proportioned like these yukkuri.
The only logical explanation really (if all these activities were just a day) is if Reimu and Marisa have abilities that put other yukkuris except for the ones with really powerful abilities to shame. If so with such a feat, at least Marisa, could kill a predator (maybe even two)
---- and Marisa and Reimu are panic prone and incapable huh?
Then the bodied remi swings her arm down and smashes both of them because they're weak little blobs of bean paste.
And yes, takumi's reimus/marisas are panic prone and incapable. This pool in particular is the first one to come to mind http://yukkuri.shii.org/pools/1394 but most stories he's written featuring them has them shut down and panic the second shit goes down.
Let's just arm this Flan with a AGM-114 missile pack and a GAU-8 30mm autocannon with a combination of HEI and API rounds on each wing and send it in to deal with this Marisa and Reimu couple.
They may be super yukkuris that managed to dig a relatively huge den within a day or two, but they're not going to stand in the way of a tankbusting Flan. "Tankbusting Flan", does that sound ridiculous to you? Well, if there exist absurdly powerful super yukkuris, then there're bound to be absurly strong predators as well that can carry the load of an A-10 Warthog or two to deal with them.
