I have a feeling that this is like having your skull broken by falling from high place and your brain scattered all around (but not damaging the important brain tissues that let you murmur your last words).
The only reason there's a lot of flak about this is because these particular yukkuri are supposed to be radioactive, and kind of explode upon death.
So yeah, I think you might want to call a professional to remove them, rather than just squish them.
Usually that would be the case but 9th didn't feel like adding such weirdness to his Yu's.
Kinda how not every artist abides to the whole "semi bodied yu" but some like it and do it or Byakurens having the light scroll thingy or the youmous having a myon but at the end the artist doesn't feel like having to include that to the mix.
At the end as annoying as it can be many times, we are at the whim of whatever the author feel fancy about...
Yeah, it's a bit annoying how vague the timelines on each work get, since some feel like happening early on the yukkuri boom, some in the middle and some a bit later.
Obviously rare Yu's would become a bit more prevalent between normal breeding and well, factory or breeder's mass growing them later in the timeline.
But because we rarely get a good "when this happens in the overall yu's timeline" it becomes hard to tell if it's just rare yu's becoming a more normal occurrence, kinda how Sanae pretty much downgraded from rare to more of a slightly premium since they appear far more often even in the wild.

Remember, they have paste for brain, unlike Mr. Human and other living things!
