  • Since I don't really know if there is anything going on about this, I made this announcement.
    It's a completely independent initiative.
If anyone already had something ready, please say so either in the comments section or on the forum.
    Thanks.

Thanks for posting this, I would've just scribbled some text on paint and called it a day.

As of this moment, the official decommission will be the end of March. (as in, I will stop paying the bills and close the account at that time).

A viable option is to take over payments, and do the upgrade in place by spinning up another VM and migrate everything. (or you can try to upgrade stuff normally, but linux is a huge pain to maintain if you haven't been doing it). You will own the site going forward.

The cost per month ranges from 30-42~. (haven't gone over 40 something recently)
The domain expires Sep 2020 and needs to be renewed. This well over 100 something last time, it wasn't cheap.

Thank you all for sticking around, and remember Russian spam bots are the cause of the cascade of events.

Sorry for having such shitty security on the site, fufufu.

Can someone translate this to Japanese? :3

The monthly payment is what stops me, as I can't afford to do something like this yet.
I can probably contribute something for the domain renewal though.
If I could've done it, the "take over" would've been done at least a month ago.
If someone steps in to take care of that matter, I can deal with the technical side of the deal just fine, be it recreating the VM or upgrading the current one (and of course installing the new Danbooru plus restoring the database.)

we might be able to do crowdfund for the monthly payment. We should be able to come up with 40 each month

As long as we have a server anything is fine. Just do it as someone said.
If any of you want to take the current server, talk with Dosu.
Once there is a server I obviously need access to it so I can install everything there.
    Abd that's it, nothing more.

I know nothing about server maintenance or administration but i could kick in some money each month to keep it running
