And...done, I'm not a good fan of this story, but this is pretty much straightforward and (largely) textless, so here we go.
Back to the story: I still think that this Marisa didn't take enough karma, Reimu - although stray, she didn't do what a typical stray does, but based on the post #80212, I imagine that though she loved Marisa, the second reason she decided to get in the house was to refresh with a pet yukkuri and become one like her "husband". The koReimu didn't show much, in fact she didn't show anything at all, so no comment, while the koMarisa is just a typical koyukkuri, so I don't dislike it either.
The reason I hate this Marisa is that her owner really loves her, you could see post #80209, she buy so much toys, clothes, food (can't understand what is the meaning of that kata, but I'm pretty sure it's not low-grade food); post #80210, she plays with her, not neglecting or abandoning her or don't care about her; post #80235, she even has a yukkuri calendar, and after kicked that thing out, she's also buy a new one. So what does that mean? It means that she absolutely loves yukkuri, most notably pet yukkuri and a good one. And what did that thing do to her? Betrayed her trust and refreshed with a stray. She came from a shop so she must know that it is forbidden to interact with strays, let alone refresh with that. So yeah, this thing deserved all of this.

And yes, although once in a blue moon there will be someone who is bizarre enough to give a chance to a stray, but not this girl. And you really should add a comma to your sentence mate.

It rarely ends well, unfortunately, since strays tend to be what most would consider to be shithead. Admittedly, it's somewhat understandable given how hellish and unforgiving urban life is for stray, and being nicehead usually will not end well for them. Still, it's also a good way to get under the skin of pet owners. Even if they are not shithead before, having ko seems to cause yukkuri to focus more of their affection towards each other and their offspring, generally at the cost of that towards the owner. Maybe that's why most pet yukkuri owners' solution to unsanctioned reproduction with stray is to literally throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Things like that are why badges matter, since it usually entails training (or modifying, in some cases) them to know better than to refresh with strays. Well, that or just get some yukkuri sex toy, or reinforce your windows.

I don't really advocate karma in the view you do -- all these stories have the usual narrative. 'betray the owner'
Yeah, but they're young. They make the choice to mate with a stray -- sometimes the stray is doing it so they can become a pet (sometimes again), they get tossed, and everything just spirals down from there, and inevitably ends in death for the whole family.
It's been done worse, it's been done better.
Also, the miss did have the option to simply help Marisa and save her little one, then still turn her away. Just because she got a new pet doesn't mean she couldn't help Marisa.
Regardless, without any speech, it's hard to say if there was any real shithead attitudes. Everyone seemed pretty even-tempered. Even when out in the wild, Marisa forced herself to get used to eating bugs and grass, even though her pallet was used to tastier foods -- usually an easy shithead flag.
