just as a side note "translation_available" tag isnt really needed for "translated" ones...it's mostly used for untranslated stuff, where the translation is provided by someone in the comments
From cute, good pets to utter shitheads. Ah well, it's a yukkuris true nature. As there's no series tag for it, I'll tag this as "chibi reimu". Unless I think of a better one...
Well, he didn't feed them...What did he expect them to do? They felt they were unjustly punished and decided to punish him for mistreating them. Good for them...
(See? A completely civil, un"trolling" comment made by Hand of Fayt)
The thing is, the mister rightfully punished them for fooling around and breaking something, hell, compared to some more vicious people, the mister was quite civil, until this happened.
We can't blame the mister on this one, but the little ones being so arrogantly stubborn, and not being genre savvy enough about what usually happens with yukkuris if they stretch it too far.
They weren't unjustly punished but I do think he went overboard with the whole imploding them in a microwave. But such is the nature of yukkuri comics...
ok I don't feel like it was a trolling comment, he just doesn't agree with you guys. Though I believe we had this discussion months ago on the original picture over whether their actions were justified.
Well that's why on this one i just explained what i think happened on the story overall and my impression of the whole thing, basically discussing. But yeah, this discussion was done long ago, probably one of the things that, bothers me, i understand new people wanting to discuss old stuff, but, there are some topics of discussion that are better left alone than bringing them up again, like the famous "justification for abuse".
Besides, i'm being wary out of sly or undertone comments as an attempt to break the rule through technisimn. The least we need is Anti-Abuse people doing that, only to give ammunition to hardcore abusers like AIE to do the same on FF and make more drama.
Hey HoF. You've got your own board already. Why bother coming back here? You obviously don't like the pictures here. What good could come from constantly returning just to make everyone, including yourself, uneasy? There's a place full of the cute, happy, cuddly yukkuri that you so enjoy. It was created for a reason. Why not stay there?
Well, because there are some cute, cuddly yukkuri images here too...and with a bit of editing and some cut/paste work, the "evil" ones can be made cute.
Just trying to do my part for the Yukkuri lovers out there...
Well, if a dog or a cat bit/scratched you, you'd be pissed wouldn't you? Mister was punishing them and they got mad at being punished, he then was gonna give them extremely good food and then gets hit by their sui in a lame attempt to fight back.
But really, i think the microwave is a bit much. As awesome as it was I think only the reimu deserved that. God I hate Reimus
I've got a pet theory that in yukkuri-world everyone's borderline retarded from eating yukkuris with high amounts of lead in their filling. It explains so many things.
Because he did go overboard. It's a thinly veiled excuse for abuse, kinda like the plumber/delivery guy in porno. Every human in kiriraita-land is an abuser, or a few thin threads away from it.
Also, since I don't want to get jumped on, this comment isn't anti-abuse, it's an observation of the mentality of the people in yukkuri-land.
Well in my honest opinion i would had smacked them around and give them 1 extra day of no food and isolate the reimu, in case she's being a bad role model. If they go on being trashy and such, without understand what they did wrong, well, we'll have to so what to do with them.
Yukkuri can understand (for the most part) humans, so denying food could work, but three days is too much. It would even make humans desperate, and yukkuri are much smaller than us.
The ruler-spanking was a good punishment, but if they keep acting up the reasonable way to deal with them is isolation, and possibly the removal of the Reimu who seems to be the root of the problem.
Thing is, I myself would want to punish these little fuckers pretty harshly, too, especially the Reimu. The "starvation" is really, to me, about the same as making children go to bed without dinner - totally fine as punishment, as long as it's not done every day. The spanking was 100% appropriate.
The microwave, however, was just Mister going into Angry Caveman mode. Killing them accomplished, what? Getting rid of them, yes, and also mindbreaking the well-behaved parents who knew better than to attack the normally caring Mister.
...Then again, there's another way to think about this: In civilized human society, animals that attack humans with intent to do serious harm are put to sleep. These critters, despite being capable of human speech and limited cognition, are still animals, at best. They tried to run Mister over with a cart. The victim (if they were a yukkuri and not something tougher) of such an attack would be left maimed, if not killed. This makes the kos' attack with the cart a yukkuri -murder attempt-.
The use of a slow-killing method like the microwave was just sadistic, but killing them was absolutely appropriate.
Well there is the whole thing he was pretty much going to give them high tier food and orange juice if they had behaved well as a mixture of "prize for understanding and make up for the days they didn't eat".
But yeah, the true pet care taking problem here, was probably the microwave kill, but since this is abuse, an outcome like this is quite plausible.
I sometimes think that people go even more murderous on yukkuris out of being tired of their stunts and tantrums in life, even if you pet may not do it, you may have to deal with dozens of dozens of manjuus at work, in the park, etc. So people may grow quite intolerant to trashiness in such a uneasy enviroment.
>>We may not approve of anon's action after the suii incident, but we can't say it's all his fault or anything.
One could say that Mister adding a stray Reimu to a family of (seemingly) well-behaved pets was just a doomed setup from the start, especially seeing as Reimus typically amplify trash characteristics of Yukkuris the worst of them all and the Reimu in this story was pure trash.
The trouble is, with yukkuri (and animal pets and children, for that matter), there's really no way to distinguish "rotten to the core and unsalvageable" from "badly behaved, but can be straightened out with a little tough love" until the shit has already hit the fan.
I wouldn't say it's a Reimu trait to exaggerate the jackassery; more like it's a scum trait, which helps to bring out the scumbag in all yukkuri who haven't already learned their lesson.
The biggest problem is that the koReimu escalated things to the maximum extent right away (killing). That necessitates termination, so the little shit will not get - and does not deserve - the chance to learn how wrong its actions were.
The second-biggest problem is that the other kos got caught up in the koReimu's derpitude. They clearly had some scum in them somewhere, since ALL of them went along with the murder attempt, and NONE of them expressed remorse, even when their parents chastised them. That puts them right on the same level as the instigating koReimu, so, they die too.
The parents are the real victims here. They were clearly surprised and horrified at the kos' idiocy, and they did try to correct them. Many would say "they should have taught their kids right from wrong" - how? It's clear that this scum behavior came like a bolt from the blue; they'd had no clue the kids were shitheads, either. They also might not have had time to drive the lessons in behavior yet, either; there's no way of knowing how old the kids are.
Either way, it boils down thus: 1. Anon went juuuuust a little too far. 2. The kos deserved to die. 3. Poor Mama and Papa.
I guess it was ultimately good for them, because it meant they all got killed in an extremely satisfying, painful and slow fashion while the parents were forced to watch. If they didn't decide to 'punish' their owner he might not have killed them (or at least in such a good way), so it was probably for the better. And they were really cute, too, which makes it better.
I wouldn't call it attempt of murder, more like an attack, even if drop dead easy is a typical trash and shithead saying, we should recall that sometimes the little ones use it without understanding the true conotation of that phrase, kinda how little kids swear without knowing the meaning and thinking it's only a "strong" insult.
Of course, for the whole euthanazia thingy, an attack is still good reason for it, animals aren't euthanazied only when they kill but also when they attack feriously, though i may prefer to wait a bit longer to take the kill option, and probably do it with a quick and if possible a meaningful way to kill them, unless they go as shithead as the marisa of "Argue It Easy" which some little extra pain wouldn't be bad.
True, JIE...Normally one would put an animal to sleep should it attack and cause serious harm. But then again, sometimes, the animal will be investigated to find out if the it was provoked or not.
Granted, the Yukkuri may have ment to harm the man in this picture, but not kill him. I highly doubt their small "scooter" would have done much damage to him at the rate of speed it was going at either.
I agree that the proper punishment could have been scolding, perhaps another spanking (for all of them if you feel the need to), and isolation from each other. Kinda like a timeout in their "rooms"...
You can say that since this very uneasy ones attacked him when he rightfully punished them and was willing to give them some good treats if they had reflected in their wrong doing, it generates a mixture of shock and anger.
Yukkuris tend to generate that to humans with their uneasy actions that many times are unfair or plainly betraying the trust and love of the human.
If it were me in that guy's place. I would secretly "d'waaa" at them because they just look kinda cute, and explain to them why it was I punished them in the first place. They obviously don't understand why and thus, I would make it clear.
If then, they understood, they would be given their feast. If not, they would be given about 5 pieces of regular Yukkuri Kibble each and then "grounded." (isolated and not allowed to play or whatever for a day)
Yeah...I'm not really good at the whole punishment thing...Too softhearted I guess...
>I wouldn't call it attempt of murder, more like an attack, even if drop dead easy is a typical trash and shithead saying Wasn't my point. The "drop dead easy" thing is pretty much just an anger phrase, yes. However, the issue is, they - in their yukkuri mindset - attacked Mister in a way that would maim or kill a yukkuri (trying to run him over with a "car"). They do this, thinking that it will have the same effect on Mister - they even think they have grievously wounded him after hitting him (to no real effect, but that's yukkuri delusion for you). It was their idea of a savage attack.
>I highly doubt their small "scooter" would have done much damage to him at the rate of speed it was going at either. Well, of course it wouldn't. He's a human, not so squishy as baby manjuu. Thing is, I know this, you know this, Mister knew this, but the koyukurri -did not comprehend this-. Their comments about Mister being "hurch" are proof enough.
It was a small and lightweight vehicle, but to them it's the size of an SUV. It was going slowly, but that's because yukkuri can't NOT go slowly. It was going as fast as they could make it go.
The results were unimpressive, but they clearly meant for Mister to be pasted. That's downright damning.
>Yeah... I'm not really good at the whole punishment thing... Too softhearted I guess... I'm rather experienced with dealing with small animals and children. One thing I learned fairly quickly is that, at low levels of intelligence (e.g. toddlers, cats, dogs), you have to make the method of punishment match their ability to comprehend.
For human toddlers, explaining anything to them is pointless. They don't need to understand the reasons why they should not do something beyond "I am the Law, and you will obey me or Else." When they mature enough to begin to understand the real difference between right and wrong, only then do you make the punishments more cerebral. Until then, spankings and isolation.
Animals only really understand pain, fear, and hunger as anti-motivators. They can learn what should not be done, but only through enforcement of the owner's rules.
Yukkuri, despite understanding speech, don't really comprehend reason (especially at a young age). They can speak, yet they operate at an animal level. Therefore, animal-level treatment and punishment is most appropriate.
If you can't muster up the gumption to swallow your tears and give your pets (and/or children) the appropriate level of discipline, I would argue that you either don't love them enough to want to see them raised right, or that you're clearly not willing to put in enough effort at raising them.
HoF, part of the reason why many of the older users here seem to be more extreme in handling punishments is due to the inherent inability to reason of yukkuri.
For example, in the series: argue it easy, the marisa trashes a anon's garden. He disciplines it, but the marisa's entire belief is that the human was wrong to discipline it. Worse yet, it forgets its punishment even after multiple chances to redeem itself.
So trying to turn a bad seed, especially for yukkuri that have illogical reasoning, is often felt to be fruitless. I sympathize with your feelings, as I'm assuming the majority of your experience with yukkuris is purely as cute images. But, there is quite a bit of backstory (and quite a bit isn't abuse, just exploring yukkuri's in natural settings) that show the dangers of simple creatures with low reasoning capabilities. "The tale of the plant type yukkuri birth", I feel, shows why small amounts of intelligence and ego (the sense of self) can be such a dangerous combination.
Huh, double post (tora ninja'd a post in while I was typing. Well played sir).
For me, I've found yukkuri interesting because they operate on an animal level but have the ego of full thinking beings. Not just in arrogance, but in terms of beliefs. A yukkuri *knows* that it is correct. That the other person is wrong. It's an argument against faith. And that's what's interesting, to me, is that while other living beings develop into their sense of self, a yukkuri is born with that sense of self. With that ego. But I guess my intrigue in that stems more from my writing roots and is a bit off topic for images XD
"Recent" low-standard satisfaction aside, something still just doesn't sit right with this story. I mean, I see where Tora's coming from, but this still strikes me as an over-reaction by Mister at best. I come back to this story every now and then when I'm browsing OYP and I just end up coming with alternate scenarios to different results. I'll run through a few.
- Throw out the Reimu (since at this point Mister should've been able to detect that she's the root of the problem). - Kill the Reimu in any fashion you please (see above noted option). Personally I'd go for one that turns her bratty arrogant behavior against her. - Punish the Reimu until her mind breaks, assuming she doesn't die first. Force the kids to watch if you want them to scare them straight. - Spank them all for trying to "kill" Mister then follow it up with more isolation. - Because of what Matt brought up with the lack of nurishment, isolate them again but give them the food and juice then tell them to make it last three days. (If you wish to set up a camera to monitor their actions, that's up to you, but it's obvious that Reimu's the main problem here, but eh.) - Punish them all with the microwave since a few of them ended up showing signs of "Oh shit." before Mister even set the time. Either set the timer to a time long enough to scare them, but short enough that none of them are killed. - Same as above, but don't set the timer to anything. Just let them stay in there with the knowledge they implied of what's going to happen next.
Of course, virtually none of those with work on the Reimu, so I prefer any of the first three if you want to send a message to the rest followed by either the fourth or fifth option when dealing with the Ko's. But yeah, the biggest victims here are the parents, whom're were forced to watch their kids slowly die despite trying to get them to apologize at first then tried to get Mister to reconsider... then were abandoned in the forest.
I have a little more to banter about, but I'll stop here for now at least.
Perhaps the 'over-reaction' may be because the abuser inside mister woke up, too. Everything he did to 'punish' them wouldn't be out of place as straight abuse, and it seems he was pretty much intending to kill them after this.
C'mon, it's obvious the Reimu only influenced the Alices and Patchy. Another weird detail I notice that she's the last one to die in the microwave. I mean, wtf? I would do the 1st, 5th, and last suggestion by mutantpenguin to see if they would apologize.
See it like this AM2, she was the last one to die, but she was the one suffering for the longest + i think there was some "rule of drama" applied to make her last longer both for her suffering and to make her "tainter/corrupter" status more notorious by giving only her a set of "past misdeeds" flashbacks before dying, something the others didn't have.
Not much of a consolation for those that may had spared the other ko's but something is something
Psycho2112 said: Since I know what happens later, I find the koyukkuris in the right. This is also one of the first anons I've wanted to kill SLOWLY.
1) They aren't in the Right (It was long ago explained why) arguing if Anon went overboard with the oven is another story, but the Ko's clearly weren't in the right.
2) Again No Anti Abyuse on Abyuse and No Anti FF and FF, respect the Rules.
