Seems sort of...disproportionate of a reaction.

Also, if Reimu rammed Marisa so hard that impacting the wall split her skin, how is Reimu not at least damaged by the blow? If nothing else, she should be in a considerable amount of pain from such force through her face.

Conservation of energy can't take it easy like this!

M8, physics doesn't work like that.
When Deibu hit Marisa, she was deccelerating into a cushy manju ball.
When Marisa hit the wall, he was deccelerating into a hard glass panel, which entails far higher g-forces and thus damage.

    Hope the guy gets cancer.

Sure, they were obnoxious customers, and acted poorly.

It's still his f'ing job to serve them and be at his best.

If he doesn't like it, he should quit and find another job.

It's not like the yukkuri didn't pay for -everything- they did. He got the money, they just acted like assholes.

But all that, after only -one- visit? How is this not completely disproportionate? It'd be one thing to beat up the Marisa (not really; first time), but to kill the kids, too? Even the kids not involved? What bothers me the most is the kids who were NOT involved being killed, -and- the Reimu mother, who did -NOTHING- except watch.

Srsly, if you can't stand obnoxious customers, don't get into the service industry. I've dealt with worse than this Marisa.

Animals do not have the same rights as humans, and should not expect the treatment as 'just a shitty customer'.
Strays can already be killed without any consequence whatsoever, that anon bothered to serve them was already going beyond his responsibilities. That the yukkuris had money is irrelevant, since there is nothing stopping humans from killing them and taking all that money (which the shitheads likely stole anyays).

If a cockroach bit you, you would crush it, how is that disproportionate?

And then Anon gets to prison 'cuz he can't pay the price of damaged walls and little Marisa is killed by some home-invading stray.

Also, I was able to type that only on 18th time I read this and this wasn't dramatic for me anymore.

Wall's are really cheap you know, pasting a bit of cement over any damage is easy.

While I see the point you're making, did she really deserve all of this for making one bad decision?

I dunno, maybe I'm just too 'close' to this kind of story, since I see the Marisa and feel like it's someone I know who made similar decisions, and had the same (sort-of) bad ending.

I know if I found her, I'd have taken her in. Simple way to determine if she was a gold badge: Look at her hat. Is there a rip? If yes: someone ripped her badge off of her hat.

Besides that, there are ways to tell.

The decision was extremely bad and definitely deserved. Since the Marisa prioritised his own comfort (little ones) over those of his master's.

At this point, I think I'd personally extend the olive branch.

    But I'm magnanimous like that.

Although Yukkuris do apologise often, they rarely understand 'why' they are apologising, so its more of a natural reaction rather than repentance.
The gold badge is clearly different, which is why it incites sympathy

Well chinese products are stereotypically infamous for being cheap and low quality due to being mass produced. This probably serves to hint that miss anon doesn't truly care about maricha.

To be fair, the manufacturing of simple products like this broom toy is already monopolised by China, you cannot find a Japanese manufacturer willing to make them.
