One Yukkuri Place

Kind of a silly question but...

How can you tell if an image has been uploaded here before, or the artist has a tag here already?

I tried looking for the answers, but I have a difficult time navigating OYP and I didn't find it.

As I found an artist looking through a tag on Pixiv and went huh I don't think I've seen them before.

I tried looking up some of the things present in the art though, that wasn't going to give me hundreds to look through, but I didn't see it here.

So I am just coming here for help on what to do.

Also uh I don't know Japanese so I just went to google translate for the name , but I only got Fly and the works under that tag didn't match.

Step first: find author's name here

First thing I do is go to other works by same author on Pixiv and try to find something with a rare yukkuri type. This would be easy to sift through by tag.

If not, something with a bunch of more common tags, but ones that are almost always set. For example I may end up with a query like "marisa myon -reimu -alice -patchouli koyukkuri anon". Notice minus sign near other common yukkuri types that are not present in a pic in question.

Besides that I would sometimes remember a pool or a witty comment here by looking at a picture in other works by author, and we have search by pool names or comment text.

There's search by author name too, you can try either as-is, or part of romanization using tools like google translate.

Step second: go through author tag (add some common tags like Reimu or Koyukkuri if still a lot of pics)

Another trick is that if you upload the exact same pic the system will warn you of a duplicate.
On the other hand, it's easy to fool this method (a single pixel of a different color is often enough), but it's there.

Can confirm. This is really the case with the booru image board system.

For the most part, it's good enough.
Assuming people take the works they want to upload directly from the source (e.g. the artist's pixiv profile), duplicates will be rejected.
