Pretty much...the whole appeal of yu's nature is being talking food stuff that because of the magic asshole wizard shenanigans, adapted various systems to be able to eat, see, pee, shit and reproduce, even though they literally are a dumplings with shitty attitude.
Fun fact is, against claims and assumptions from outsiders (specially anti abyuse types) many yu fans aren't necessarily into gore or torture porn, the only reason they don't mind the manjuu splattering is pretty much their foodstuff golem nature.
Honestly the fandom is kinda dying out already, so somehow going for making Yu's fleshy would pretty much kill it off FTL.

Also Jissouseki is still kicking, just not in the west (like Yukkuri I suppose.)

2chan (not 2ch), they have their own board, shared with yukkuri.
If they were made of flesh I'd have more respect for them. That would put them in the animal type. I like animals, but there are some of them (mainly primates) I dont give a fuck. Of course, I wouldnt like to torture them, neither approve that. But if they attack or assault me I'd make them regret for sure.
Considering that yukkuri are talking beings I would try to dialogue first. I know its useless talking to them but I would try just to say "I tried talking to them but they wont listen" lol

The major difference is yukkuries have no visible nose, so less grotesque.
Besides, yukkuri's facial features are more plain than human's.
Take a look at anime characters with barely visible nose and Western comic characters. Which one is cuter?

It depends on the artist and character design.
I do like a lot of anime characters only because most that draw art depicting them are not as lazy as those drawing western art.
