One Yukkuri Place

Names for New Types

Posted under General

I'm working on something involving a yukkuri based off of Toyosatomimi no Miko, but unlike most characters there's no obvious yukkuri name for her. Miko seems awkward given that the word's used to describe any shrine maiden, and Toyosatomimi has 6 syllables.

On the other hand, I'm wondering if a name should be agreed upon by the yukkuri community or if people should just use whatever name they think fits best, so that the name ultimately gets determined by what most people adopt.

Personally I'm thinking Shoutoku (or just Shotoku to avoid being abbreviated as 'Shou').

Toyo?
Mimi?

Kind of like how nobody actually says Shikieiki Yamaxanadu, they just call her Eiki.

I say Miko, so I'm goin wit Miko. Don't care if that's a shrine maiden. Shoutoku is quite awkward. And toyosatsomimi...takes at least 10 seconds to type and is quite awkward as well. Same with Futo instead of mononobe, or yoshika instead of miyako. But while were on the topic, can someone change the tag miyako to yoshika? (and am I the only one who thinks Futo is a guy?)

Miko is confusing for other reasons, plus you'll have to make a tag like Miko_(yukkuri) and that's a pain in the ass to manage as well.

The miko tag isn't getting much use, so is easier to just make a shrine_maiden tag and use miko for the yukkuri.
I think we should make tagging yukkuris as easy as possible, so if we continue using the toyosatomimi tag, I would like to have miko aliased to it.

I agree with this change

Eiki is her name. Shiki is a title.

And I'm partial to just Toyosa. Reminds me of Fusoya.
