One Yukkuri Place

Original Yukkuri Fanfictions

Posted under General

I'm unsure if there is a place to put original fanfictions. I tried posting on the Translated page in the short story section, but my post was never approved, likely because the admin didn't think it was okay since it wasn't someone else's thing. But that's very strange. There are more than just japanese writers out there and some of us want to post our stuff.

Am I doing something incorrectly or is there a more appropriate location for me to be posting at?

Don't take it personal, it's just the google group's system.

After a time, threads autolock when no activity took place in like 30 days or something, the fanfic group has been rather inactive for months with a few exceptions, if you want to post a fic, you better make a new thread, even if it's a new "Short Stories" thread.

Google groups is becoming worse and worse, kinda why admins and such had been looking for an alternate site to make the new fic community, but real life gets in the middle, everybody is busy, etc.

No I approved the story a long time ago. Thing is I think the thread expired and as a result any new posts don't show up. I only read it because I get updates in my gmail, and when I tried replying nothing happened...

So I guess its time for a short story thread 3. This is one of the major reasons why I want to move off google groups as well.

Edit: The problem with setting up a message board is not space, but its just my lack of time and knowledge. There's PHPBB3 board that's free but I don't know PHP and it'd be difficult to configure otherwise.

The one I like (invision) requires licensing, but I'm not willing to shell out $200 for a license. I'm also not going to try to pirate a copy because it is a public facing forum after all. I also think the license expires, which means it'd be a recurring fee.

If you guys want to take a look at some other alternatives I'm all ears. Migration is also a problem but there's a php script that scrapes google groups that I think may be helpful.

If this idea had floated around months ago I might have written something up, but right now there's too much work on my plate to handle another side project. Sorry.

do we really need a message board format? What does 2ch use for the ankos?

I have no idea how that wiki system works. We have the google site that Hourai built, but I don't think we can get discussions up and running on that board.

I don't want to use wikia because you have 0 control over your content. If anybody can suggest a good controllable wiki that's easy to setup (that can support discussions) I'm all ears.

There's a gap between when anko picture came out and the anko get uploaded to the site though.
Isn't the Atwiki page simply an archive site after the stories are posted in 2ch ?

Latecomer to this conversation so apologies for necroing, but I think I've run into a similar problem as Didact04. Anyways, why not just use the forums here for stories? Or even the text wiki? As Didact04 says, "There are more than just japanese writers out there and some of us want to post our stuff."

I'd post on FF.net but there's no yukkuri section there. It all just goes into Touhou.

That's what the yukkuri fanfic group is for, you just need to have a gmail account, register to the group and then post your fics as a thread of it's own there.

It turns out that my posts were caught in the spam filter.

Mister spam filter can't take it easy ._.

But apparently he blocks mister porn bots. Who also can't take it easy. ._.

Either way it's not very easy. ._.

You're MET over there, right?
