Originally, yukkuris were supposed to shit bean paste and overreact about it, but in some stories, they're depicted as shitting real shit.

It's still beanpaste, it's just some artists prefer to differentiate shit from filling with a slight recolor, hell many artists make their pee yellow even though it's the same sugary water that should be trasparent.

I hate to break it to you, but I actually never ate bean paste in my life. I eve never saw how it actually looks like IRL.

First thing I did after starting to read Yukkuri stories was getting to a nearby supermarket and buying some manjuu.
They are too tasty so I only took one picture of a manjuu with Marisa's hat before finishing the whole package.

Yeah tears, saliva and pee are all sugary water, as much, some artists like to color pee yellow even if it's the same thing than saliva and drool.
Yellow pee can't take it easy...
Ideally they're plain water and their body retain all the sugar needed. But yukkuri's body structure are not that good in keeping things separated.
So an idea. It's a common idea that yukkuri's shit throw away bad memories together with extra paste beyond the elastic capacity of their body.
What if there's rare yukkuri defect that made them shit out part of the memory they should retain (in yukkuri standard) together with the bad memories ? Although being yukkuri, forgetfulness is probably a normal thing even without it.
The excrements can simply be depicted as "unplesant" towards other yukkuris, many images depict the yukkuri not knowing they're eating yukkuri-shit (expired anko) until they see the poop coming out from another yukkuri.
Speaking of wastes, I was wondering what would be the best species to own for owners on carbohydrate-restricted diets. I would consider a Nazrin/Syou pair, since their shit would be cheese and scrambled eggs respectively.
What would a nazrin’s tears be made of? Whey?

I'd still say tears are still like sugar water, just the fillings are different. It's kinda strange imagining cheese-whiz or some whey product streaming out of nazarin when she cries...
