One Yukkuri Place

Language and translation tagging.

Posted under General

As it becomes more obvious that not all yukkuri stuff comes from japan, I think we need to revise how we tag things. We have the occasional Chinese stuff, and a growing number of original English stuff.

We have original English works marked as translated. English works that have been converted to Japanese are tagged reverse_translated. THERE'S NO SUCH THING.

My recommended convention would be to:

  • Tag what language it is.
  • Add additional tags if it's translated.

Translated tag says:
"An image that originally was in one language and translated to English. As this tag is generally used for English language pictures, and by people to find them, be sure to tag original English with 'translated' to allow them to be included"

Reverse_translated was my joke tag for that image since "translated" consists of over 99% Japanese -> English hard translations. If it is removed, I would not mind at all since it would give me a reason to remove other joke tags.

This is already being done...

Ah, as far as joke tags go, it's one that's hard to recognize as being a joke.
