One Yukkuri Place

One Yukkuri Game (Tentative Title)

Posted under General

Take it Easy OYP! Here is the official thread of the game tentatively entitled: One Yukkuri Game. More stuff will be updated on OP soon.

As some of you know, I've been working on a yukkuri game: post #59238

The game will be an action adventure rpg simulation genre.

Todo list (not in any particular order):
1. Yukkurariums(model has been made, not functional yet)
2. Speech bubbles(implemented but buggy af)
3. Yukkuri Behavior(hunger done, still working on the rest)
4. More items/tools(new: shotgun added!)
5. More yukkuri(currently have Reimu, Marisa, Patchy and Alice)
6. In-game room/house/factory/farm/garden/etc layout editor
7. Feral/stray yukkuri invasions
8. Storyline(campaign mode)
⑨. Baka
10. 3d models for yukkuri, tools, and items. 2D yukkuri is better than 3D
11. Multi language support
12. Original artwork(almost there)
13. Voice acting(or just synthsized with UTAU)
14. Particle effects(rain, leaking paste, etc)
15. Work on a first release(lol it's been 2 years)
16. Yukkuri battles
17. Slow and easy background music.
18. Switch to Unity3D (GameMaker has limitations) staying on GameMaker
19. Think of a better title.
20. Take it Easy! (Done! Took it easy for 2 years!)

Take it easy!

Cool, what are you building this game in?

GameMaker: Studio Steam version (free)
Its easy to use and shortens development time.

Neat idea. Lets see if this actually goes anywhere or joins the graveyard of dead projects.

Though I'm unsure of the storyline. I always liked the open nature of Simyukkuri and the Marisa game. Though I suppose if the game is open ended enough to allow you to do whatever, I suppose I can be okay with it.

There will be a Story mode and a free game mode. I'll do the story mode once I've finished adding in all the desired gameplay mechanics.

Hm, I'll help if you need anything.
Going from gamemaker to Unity is going to be a massive jump involving a total rewrite though...
Id strongly reccomend sticking to 2d regardless of engine though, going 3d introduces a million possible problems and really isnt feasible for a single person.
Take a look at Unity 2d, its definitely a huge step up from gamemaker, and it wont require too much extra effort.

Well, I've got experience on a shitload of engines, only not 2D. If Gamemaker and Unity 2D are free, I might read about them to help on this.

If anyone feels like it would be worth making the change to the Unreal Engine 3, let me know xD

Unity is free, 2d is just a mode in Unity that optimizes the interface for working in 2d, it was added a few versions ago. Unity is probably the simplest commercial-level platform available. Heres a quick overview http://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/modules/beginner/2d/2d-overview

Too late, it's already in 3d. In fact it was already in 3d since the beginning. It was actually cannibalised from an old FPS project that I made before knowing anything about yukkuris.

It won't be that sort of game. It will be somewhat like a yukkuri breeding game. However, when you do beat up yukkuri in the game, there will be a lot of gory effects. Sometimes, there will be home invasions where you would have to defend your own yukkuri, by beating them up.

Yukkuri HAVE to sound like this:

I think that only applies to babies and kos. Adult yukkuri may sound deeper, with dosu yukkuri sounding the deepest. However, I will definitely make them sound like that.
