Marisa Game Translation Project Reboot

Posted under General

Where is mister block first? It must be easy and be translated immediately no je!

And what about translation for newest versions of miss marisa game? How often it will be updated?

Maybe easiest mister hacker-topic_starter can create easy mister patch to easy patch patch newest versions?

Glad to finally see this in-game, though it looks like some of the longer lines are going outside of the speech box. Should be relatively easy to fix, hopefully.

Thanks to Bystander and all the other translators for your hard work!

Seconding this.

Wonderful to see the community in action.

Sorry if I might have missed it, but does the translated EXE only work as a version .88? Tried putting in one of the newer releases and running it and it seems to revert the game to .88

Yup that's how it works.

I haven't been keeping up with the game recently is the newer versions stable or are there still glaring issues?

Should we work on translating .94b or wait for a more stable version?

Personally I wouldn't bother with any version that isn't stable, on top of that this time of year is a little hard to get a project together as Christmas is winding down and New Years is starting to ramp up. That being said I'm open to the community on this as long as the translators give the go ahead.

The simplest way to proceed would be to either create a script to decompile and autotranslate key terms in order to avoid having to repeat work every update, or to create a distributable text file containing all translations.

The key is to remove any requirement for expertise from translating new versions (As its reasonable to assume that relatively few new translations will be neccessary since most code is backend.) This was always an issue with simYukkuri, adding any new feature required a massive amount of familiarity with the entire codebase, as did translating (due to the million different locations for menu code, a problem in itself)

I did all my translations for this in a batch editor, if that's any help. I can search/replace all the dialogue I contributed in one go.

Could you share this editor with us? I'd like to try it.

It's, uh, a piece of Linux command line voodoo called sed. If you don't use Linux I think you're out of luck, and if you do you probably know more about it than me. =(

Updated

the next update I'll rip open is the one that is planned for the 11th as it seems a bit of a bigger one. Here is a section from the blog after going through Google translate.

"Plans of the next update January 11, is expected to add entanglement "clean play".
The Son in, it contains UI When you are finished, fine rework and, while adding the change of words and reactions due to fluctuations and the ability of the ability of Mari Cha by action, plans to advance the ground of Naruyu behind the scenes."

Depending on the accuracy of the translation, it looks like there will be some new lines and UI elements or at least some sort of rework.

Alright cracked open the version .95, at a cursory glance it looks like roughly 300 lines of dialogue and about 5500 lines of code have been added and all the variables have been shifted around. A number of lines seem to have been rewritten as they now include additional references to other variables. I suspect it's just more of Maricha self referencing and along with calling on shitty geezers and I think a reimu doll if I read the notes correct. So what I'll do is break up the lines again for the translators to go over, while I figure out where everything has been moved to for the UI. I should have a new paste bin up in a day or two with a dialogue text dump. I'll replace the stuff on the front page once I have everything pulled out.

Updated

Sorry guys for the no update, been hella sick for the last few weeks and I'm told I can expect a few more. I haven't forgotten/Abandoned/Went to the big easy place in the sky, yet. When I'm back in the swing I'll rip apart the latest version available.
