One Yukkuri Place

Classic art club; or a thread we talk about good old pic.

Posted under General

Greeting my fellow OYP member.

The topic I want to talk about is about old picture. As I believed you all know, we have a rule against posting comment on old piece. The act is called Necrobump or Necropost, lit. posting on dead . We frown upon such act and those who committed it. However, our dear new members tends to be excited by such a treasure trove of magical manju art the OYP is, and they forget to study our code of conduct. I wouldn't put too much blame on them as I too was, once, not-easy and city-sec. Nevertheless, lately as I review daily update on this site, I found that so many necroposter has invaded the comment. I was mildly annoyed by such inconvenience, but a post perk my interest.

It was a post of certain artist I never review. And after a few pic I found that his art is so easy which give me an idea. A modest proposal if you may, to start a topic about great yet old picture. It is my believe that those new members did not necropost to blacken our mood. They just want to express their opinion about such an exceptional picture. So I hereby start a new topic as a place of expression and exchange of idea between the liked-mind.

Let me start of by talking about this pool, Kamisama by nodachi [ http://yukkuri.shii.org/pool/show/348 ]. The comic itself is over four years old, but the art. By the heaven the art. So dark and twisted. Simple drawn line, yet combined with strong stroke and emotion. It's truly marvelous and a pool to behold by any talking-manju-derived-from-some-wierd-Japanese-doujin-game enthusiastic. And reading the story is like spending time with smart and yound lady, it end to quickly and make you yearn for more. I almost want to printed it out and sell it and use the money to buy ticket to Japan and find the artist so I can tell him how great his art was, but I digress...

In conclusion, Let us talk about old pic, pool, or artist you stumble upon while digging through the site. Those who never saw it will get they chance to witness the work and share they opinion without having to resort to necrobump, while those who have saw it when it was post will get to reminiscence about the good old day in the golden age of Yukkuri.

TL;DR. Too many necrobumper. Let's post here if you want to comment old pic. Start with this http://yukkuri.shii.org/pool/show/348. THIS SHIT IS GOOOOD!!!

Stalk Amputation and High Grade Pet Shop Reimu are two cutesy abyuse classics by yuudoro that nobody mentions anymore. They were two of the first series I read after joining, and well worth reading.

I also enjoyed Yukkuris in Town and Selfish Mother / Yukkuris in the Cardboard House by gesuaki - but fair warning, if you don't like shithead karma houdinis you will be raging at your monitor in two seconds flat.

Another great gutter trash story - if not the gutter trash story - is Yukkuri Family from the City by ammo. This was one of the very first yukkuri stories I ever read, and one of the main reasons I stuck around.

(The very first, and the only thing that stopped me from squicking out and purging everything yukkuri-related from my browser history, was the text story A Yukkuri Paradise by poweryoga. Dosu is truly the easiest.)

There's tons of other comics I'd like to mention, like Yukkurarium Family, Useless Reimu, House Yu, True Happiness... but I think I've rambled enough already.

I miss JIE. ;_;

Me too. =(

Stalk Amputation is a recommended read for everyone. There's also a movie (or rather a slide show with effect and voice over?) in Youtube. 2 of them I believe.

necroing is generally frowned upon, but I'm ok with it as long as you're not just making a 1 liner comment or bumping a whole bunch of them at once. It's only annoying if someone goes in and sees a series they haven't read before and feel the need to comment on all the pictures.

Found another gem by pure chance. This one is "Human extermination" by suzume-aki [ http://yukkuri.shii.orgu/pool/show/424 ]
The story, while not unique or special, is a situation most of you must have imagine once. Encountering dilusional yukkuri thinking it can beat mister human, then crush it dream to a pile of dirt, literally.
The art is clean and satisfying to read. Tipping my hat at our good ol' hardworking fellow for awesome translation. Again, while not the most awesome or memorable work, still worthy for every mindless yukkuri abuse fanatic.

The only downside is the rather abrupt ending. Oh, and there's a nice philosophical debate at the last page. Be sure to check it out!

I thought the "post without bumping" feature was there for that purpose. Gives you an opportunity to post a comment without having it pushed all the way back to the top of the stack.

Not my place to say, but I think that's more about artwork than this forum. Game threads are a good example of reasonable necroing. It may be months..years before revisions are made. Or if someone has a long-term issue they periodically update.
