frig outta here

I don't want to hear anything from the guy who's past couple of posts have just been "jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEE"

I ignored it for a while, but my curiosity got the better of me. The gameplay's not anything overly complicated or special and it's difficult to get attached to any of the girls when I have absolutely no idea what they're saying. They're all just fetishized personifications of historical ships anyway.

Touhou, and more specifically Meiling, will always be my one true love. I've already got one collection of over a hundred adorable girls, I don't need another.

I know the feel.

I guess (IMO, though) the hate comes from the feelings of hurt and betrayal from seeing more and more artists and doujin creators "jump ship" and get sucked into the engineered (to cater to as many otaku interests as possible) marketing black hole that is the Kancolle fandom as time goes on.

At this point, you can name an artist and there's a possibility they've done Kancolle art--something that Touhou used to boast years ago, but Kancolle took it to an even ridiculous level with professional artists doing Kancolle fanart when they won't even be caught dead with doing Touhou art.

I've lost count of the many times I've browsed a favorite artist online and think, "I'd love to see this artist do Touhou fanart..."--only to find that they've done pages and pages of detailed Kancolle art, but not even a single Touhou sketch. Maybe you've had that experience?

I even like Kancolle too (as a mecha fan), but Touhou (and in extension, yukkuri) will always be special to me.

Updated

Dano, shush. Go back to tormenting Nitori.

Anyway, the gameplay's simple appeal is fun enough and I like some of the girls, but I haven't spent a great deal of time on it.

More than anything, I'm just amazed at how popular it got in such a short amount of time. I'm curious how long it'll last.

Mister is wise.

Back on the topic: any JRPG fan that hasn't played Xenoblade is missing out. I finally beat the last boss a week or so ago... almost 150 hours of actual fun.

Time to go back and do all the sidequests!

This may or may not actually affect anything.

I have no shame to admit that I will play the fuck out of Armored KanColleCore.
