Agreed, agreed, agreed.
Maybe one in like every five has a worthwhile punch line. One in ten actually causes me to laugh. The others are just completely random... and he doesn't even bother changing the text at all.
I'm very close to typing up a no holds barred critique of his stuff, punching it into an english > japanese converter, and posting it in one of his edits.

He has been pretty busy ever since the whole tsunami thing. Last few images were him doing a few images here and there but he was amongst the people that were badly affected by the tsunami.

I don't personally mind the edits, I think without artistic skills its the best someone can do to create a story.
And the marisa poo edit was hilarious. :|
I liked the Marisa poo edit one too, but he -could- be editing the text though if he wanted to tell a proper story. :(
And alot of them are just these weird comparisons. Or Rinnosuke? shopped in place of True Happiness Anon. :(
EDIT: Actually I have to admit I have sort of a knee-jerk reaction to the guy's edits. So I come on OYP every day, hit 'Posts' to see the new stuff, and my first impression is 'NEW KIRIRAITAA PICTURE' because I perceive the art style first. Then I realize it's Gerio Japa and become disappointed.
Sure, intellectually speaking, the guy loves Kiriraitaa. Makes sense. Kiriraitaa is a great artist and tells great stories. He wants to pay tribute to Kiriraitaa, more power to him. But I've still got that 'goddamn it' feel in my gut at times.

Yes, but where's the story? All he's trying to do, from my impressions of what's been posted so far, is attempt to make one-shot page gags, and they still fail miserably.
