Long story from hy83523 - Changing My Tune About Manjuu

Let's try to remain hopeful, for all we know Asu could see this as parents and kids sacrificing those that aren't their own and consider it an invalid choice, plus One could finally get a brain and point out "they don't count because they aren't the kids of neither reimu, understand easy!".

I am seconding this, but for a totally different reason entirely.

From the latest chapters, we can clearly see that Miss Asu has... issues.

Skribulous

It's pretty much what I base my hopes at, that Asu may had been something like One with his blindness until a Selfish Mother/Parent pulled such move in front of her (Asu's whole outburst was suspiciously specific about it).

Extra points if Asu had a member of her family actually sacrificing himself/herself to protect her or something (plausible, being gensokyo and all that), making her extra angry when she see's the yukkuri selfish dickery of "sacrificing others to save yourself, even your family."

I'm wondering about that myself.

Being in gensokyo doesn't make that plausible, in fact, being there would make it incredibly implausible. This isn't a grimdark series, its a video games series about magical lolis competing with laser light shows. Nobody(even redshirts and background characters) has ever died during(not talking about the past) the events of the games or even the sideworks. The series is about as grimdark as mario.

Explosion

I recall a few mentions of humans dissappearing and sometimes being dangerous to come out at night.

A few deaths doesn't necessarily make it jump down to grimdark or anything.
More like a traditional fantasy enviroment on which "in general things are fine but from time to time something happens and someone dies".
It's not I'm implying that gensokyo is a grimdark hell in earth or anything, just saying the place can be quite dangerous depending of the situation and who you meet.
Even more if you're an average human villager.

This really rubs me the wrong way. People dying =/= grimdark unless a ridiculous amount of people/youkai are dying so often that it's considered normal and/or the death are horrifyingly gruesome. A series can be serious/mature elements within without being "2edgy4me/2spooky4me"

But... koopas and goombas die left and right in mario...

Please, think of the koopas and goombas :(

Miss Asu is supposedly related to Akyu no Hieda. That's pretty much self-explanatory.

Also...

The term "grimdark" rubs me the wrong way. This is coming from someone who does not dislike Warhammer 40k. Especially the way it's been applied to describe stories...

By that logic, EVERYTHING is grimdark.

This is family_friendly versus abuse all over again, so let's leave it at that, and move on to what we're here for: JUSTICE and FITTING CONSEQUENCES.

"Yuyu..... Yuyu.... Peh peh...." Enduring the intense pain of her body, Marisa slowly went into action, raising her head and glaring at me with her hatred-filled gaze. "How can a shitty human that can't take it easy understand Marisa's greatness.... Yuyu.... Marisa leads the herd in their lives in the forest every day. Hunting for food. Protecting the herd. Can the stupid human that can't take it easy hunt for food? Can you protect the herd..... Yuyu..... Can you chase away Mister Mouse? Can you chase away Mister Bird..... Can you build a nest? Can you take care of little ones.... Yuyu.... You can't, can you? Even so..... Yuyu..... Shitty humans dare to forcibly keep the sweet sweets, forcibly keep Mister Vegetables, live in warm Mister House..... Yuyu.... By what right do humans that can't take it easy have more happiness than the easy Marisa, It's not fair idz nod fair IDZ NOD FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIR! HUMAN THAD CHANCH CHAKE ID EAZY GWO DWIE GWO DWIE ZE!!!!! HA HA HA......"

This is the most epic 'The Reason You Suck' speech I've ever heard a yukkuri give. T_T

*salutes Marisa* T_T

Too bad it's completely factually wrong. :(

zidana123

I think it doesn't count as a "reason you suck" speech if it's wrong and delusional.
I think it's just a hannibal lecture, which unlike the reason you suck, doesn't need to be truthful or make sense, only be a lecture being made by the villain.

Page 15 is up!

And it turns out that the last 2 pages on the thread are just feedback. So that's the end of the story!

Man, I can't say I liked that ending. It just suddenly stopped being about cute yukkuris. And I kind of lost all motivation to translate well by the last post. So please excuse the sudden decrease in quality >_>;

Is it time for wall of text discussions?

nah, i think hy is better at drawing comics than writing.

I expect more translations of hy stories!
