Guy wants to take care of yukkuris, reads up, then decides to try. He comes across an abandoned silver badge Reimu and takes it in. He cleans it up, feeds it, does all the usual things, and Reimu is very happy.
She was abandoned by her owner, waking up one day to find herself outside.
Then she says "Mister! Take it easy with Reimu!!" "Sorry, that's not possible."
According to the book, one should practice caring for yukkuris by first taking in a wild one, and that's what Anon is doing. Reimu goes into a panic, not wanting to get abandoned. Anon tells her he won't abandon her, and asks her to go into a box. She does so quickly, eager to please.
Then he steps on it. As the book says, one musn't abandon yukkuris out into the wild, it's best to crush them and throw them out with the garbage.
Anon thinks that he should get some more practice with bad yukkuris before buying one from the pet shop, maybe a Marisa this time.
Not really abuse with this one, just anon being a dick. Or trolling, but not in an amusing way.
I think anon is just learning how to "take care" of pet yukkuris, learning every aspect, but unlike some people he also learns the "grim and dark" side of it, like having to kill the pets when they go "bad" and such.
Basically anon is using strays and abandoned pets as cannon fodder for training every aspect of the Yu-Pet experience, incluiding the bad end/HAPPY END scenarios, so when he gets a proper Pet from a Pet Shop he'll be ready for any scenario.

Oh it makes sense, just not in an entertaining way.

Yeah, the whole "so so" or "it's okay" thing of the yukkuris is rarely used in our side of the fandom, of course dunno if now a days Japan also use it.
But it's kinda funny, she looks quite happy and even pleased, like if she were saying "Happiness!", yet she says "so-so". Maybe So-So won't necessarily make the yukkuri look bothered or dissastified and it's just means that it is eating "averagely ok" Food that she still enjoys?
In different ankos and comics, I've seen yukkuris say "sore nari" with various attitudes, depending on the writer.
Sometimes yukkuris say it loudly just because they have a compulsion to loudly announce every thought they have. Sometimes a postive-thinking, rather nicehead yukkuri cheerfully says it because she appreciates having food to eat, even if it doesn't taste good enough to evoke "Happiness!". And sometimes the yukkuris are unable to get enthusiastic about bland food and say it flatly, with a period instead of an exclamation point.
