The suggestion here is that for Kimo-aki or at least in this story, peni-peni is the only reproduction method. Jence why it's crying it can't be a mother any more.
Again, take it easy, truth be told, this is nothing, pure comedy. Specially because Kimoaki style clearly isn't meant to be depressive, the tears in kimoaki works tend to be emotionless, basically, cocodrile tears.
If you want a truly depressive stories, check Orphan Alice, Yukkuri Family from the City and that one about the continous abuse of that lil orphan reimu. Maybe you already did, but believe me, this is nothing, compared to what true depressive stories can be.
@Cokerpilot We could argue about some of kimoaki works being sad, like the Orphan Marisa's stories which did had some truly depressive factor, but this one isn't, since it's is clear humor based on typical yukkuri dumbassery combined with human ignorance. Seriously guys you don't cry or get sad watching southpark or aqua teen hunger force, and this very story is of such nature, a cruel yet funny comedy.
@anelaidlives Hmm no, i think this is the end, also Kimoaki hadn't been active for a looooooong time, since even if this wasn't the end we wouldn't know if Kimoaki will return and finish it or what, it has been so long since his latest picture was uploaded in the Japanese sites.
Kimoaki does manage to make his yukkuri, and especially the Marisas, look somewhat pitiful, but I'm more sad about the fact that there are actual people accidentally hurting their pets out of sheer stupidity.
JIE I wasn't arguing. I think this story is both tragic and some times humorous. The first half has some decent humor but the second half is more tragic. It's a ko and it's still learning to live in this environment. Which is what makes it sad.
Tragedy is when it is serious, this clearly isn't serious, why is that? Because the whole premise is being taken in a funny and clearly dumb way.
You're taking seriously something you should take it easy, there are works that you should take them as tragedies and such because of the seriousness, this one, clearly isn't. So please take it easy, don't cry just because kenny and carl were killed yet again...
Well maybe a good example would be time bandits, i didn't like the ending of that movie, on which the kid is left alone after his negligent parent's were idiotic enough to touch something that would make them go boom, but, should i take it as a tragedy when the whoooooooole movie was about laughs and the very scene was done like that? nope, it's comedy, it's for the laughs, i shouldn't take it seriously, if i do so, it kills the majority of the funny because a great deal of the funny needs you to not be serious about the scenarios.
If you want a truly depressive stories, check Orphan Alice, Yukkuri Family from the City and that one about the continous abuse of that lil orphan reimu.
I must say that what one finds sad and what one does not is really personal. For example, "Orphan ALice" seems absolutely lame to me and I've never thought of it as a good story whereas this one never fails to make me depressed.
Your right, it is based on opinions. Like I found this to be pretty saddening, but that is just the way I interpreted it. Others can find it comical, and I can easily see how with it being a klutz of an owner. But this is a story, and the great thing about stories is that they can be interpreted in many ways that the reader deems fit.
