we done!!! woooooo
Good job on this, but I'm still puzzled about what mister was trying to achieve. Teaching her not to lay on the bed when he was out?
As much as I feel this Reimu didn't really deserve all this, I just love how well done this part is.
When he "changes back into nice Mister", how Reimu just freaks out so hard she vomits everywhere, yells "why did mister turn into mister??" and begs him not to bully her with that face.
Talk about a mindfuck!
one of the best stories of OYP, if not the best!
I prefer Kiriraitaas work.
The panel at 51 is the real synthesis of this story.
However this story was wonderful.
According to the page before, it's FOR SCIENCE!
Specifically, to find out if gold badge yukkuri can recognize the same person in different clothes or in a different place etc. Basically how easy they are to fool, and in that respect this one's no smarter than the common ones.
Alternate translation interpretation might have the trolling being a way to terrify the other yukkuri into obeying humans.
True Gold might be able to notice. And, using terror to force control might backfire due to their fragile minds.
Huge potential for variance. I can imagine a good number would probably vomit themselves to death out of terror, but for the ones that are successful, they could be peddled off for a lot as they'd be perfect pets, or at the very least perfectly obedient. The aquatic Marisa, for example. She listens to human commands above all else, due to fear of abuse. Willing to do something that'd drown and kill her, result in another yukkuri getting harmed (and it doesn't appear to be an actual shithead), just on command. That's quite obedient.
I wouldn't call it obedience. It seemed to be trying to avoid pain above everything else. Including using death as an opinion. This is why platinum badge of better.
It's the same thing as obedience. Doing whatever and anything in ordered in order to avoid pain and suffering. Because disobedience leads to punishment. Platinum badges didn't exist at this point in time, nor is there any suggestion it is an ineffective technique within this story.
I gotta agree with Tea on the Marisa. Whether or not you sympathize with Reimu's situation, that Marisa is well bred as a pet.
But what do you know about yukkuri breeding, Hourai? :P
Loved the first two chapters of your prequel, by the way.
What just happened?I'm confused.
^Kind original mister=cruel violent mister
One man show.
There is a significant problem with this man's experiment, and that is that he used a yukkuri whose claim to quality was - as he admits in the first panel of this page - solely his own invention. It might have meant something if he hadn't tainted the results by rigging a low-grade Reimu as a "high-grade Reimu".
I think that was just the price actually. the price listed was probably too expensive for a Reimu, no matter how well behaved.
It's actual behavior is of very good quality.
There's nothing that indicates that it's a low-grade and quality Reimu; the price is quite expensive, but it is quite clearly a very well behaved and trained yukkuri.
At 50, her mind must have practically died...I feel sorry for the poor reimu...And that twist at the end made it quite worth reading, good job.
daibu? so she was an uneasy yukkuri all alonge and just played the part of the good pet
I just can't get into this story, even from the perspective of reading it to be horrified. Maybe it's the element of betrayal, but this story just raises my hackles and isn't an enjoyable read whatsoever.

No, she's just slurring because she's been emotionally destroyed.
Oh man oh man. I just...
This series is well-drawn, quite well-written, excellent on a number of fronts - and supremely fucked up. Most abyuse is fairly straightforward, and usually with an *attempt* at justification... But this is premeditated, intense psychological abyuse toward a clearly undeserving yu.
I know the rules about keeping FF comments off of non-FF pictures, but anyone who tries to say that this Reimu deserved what happened is unhinged. I'll say nothing more of that sort, don't worry; I'm no anti-abyuse crusader.
This comic is a great and terrible thing. It is so horrible, yet so beautiful... So powerful. It makes me uneasy. But easiness, despite yukkuri standards, is not a mark of quality - and this is certainly of the highest quality. A two-year-late congratulations to yuudoro and the translators.
Also, this is my obligatory newbie necropost. Howdy, y'all - I like this site. I think I'll stay a while.
Wow. Very Hitchcock-esque.
This is just cruel. Even for my taste.
Seriously, fuck this guy.
