You have to consider their POV, maybe for them, average school and city people, there may not be "nice yukkuris" only the pest known as yukkuri, even in this story with the guy not wanting to hurt them, etc. introduced us a very shitty group of yukkuri siblings that agreed on invading the place but then started to blame each other.
For what we know, this people may had never seen a nice yukkuri in their entire life, and considering how dramatically low the number of good yukkuris are, well, i wouldn't be surprised if that were the case, and as much, mistakenly assume that only "pet" yukkuris of higher grades can be something remotely nice.
JIE, you're new to this site so you don't know the history proper. It makes perfect sense for slimes to be behind this since yukkuris basically launched a holocaust against them. See post #965
Because of that horror, yukkuris deserve all the hate and violence against them. Yukkuris are like Nazis and they need to be wiped out. Whether they are nice, not nice, cute, not cute, is irrelevant, trifling details.
SUN I perceive your perspective as a bit too controversial, I prefer to think of yukkuri as rodents/vermin with a little touch of chickens, some are kept as pets others survive in the streets, some are degenerate others are virtuous, some are astute others are asinine, some are filthy others soigne...
SUN i kinda mentioned the slime's conspiracy pretty much because of that comic, is in fact, that very comic and the previous nice comics like the one of Sanae's Reimukkuri and stuff, made me develop the hypothesis of "at the beginning they were nice, then they became shits and we started to hate them."
It's more a case of scapegoating, which I don't approve, basically someone in the yukkuri world wanted to use a "us vs them" to stop bullying by making people focus their "bullying" on yukkuris.
As I said, I don't approve, since it doesn't fix the problem, scapegoating is a horrible way to "solve problems" and while many yukkuris deserve the bullying there are those who don't, so I don't approve of encouraging a indiscriminate aiming to yukkuris, one has to pay attention to which one deserves the squshing and which one deserves the kindness.
But like I said back then, we don't know how this yu world works like, for all we know the good ones were very few so people may only have experience with bad yu's. I still don't approve of this "method" of "solving" bullying though.
