Actually No it's not a good idea, it's highly counter productive and may even leave you in a high debt. Metal isn't cheap, specially done in the way the yu expects (the medieval like helm), there is also the issue of covering their feets in metal or chain mail not allowing them to bounce or crawl, there is also the issue of the weight and the well known yukkuri low strenght to carry it.
And finally, for who you would make it? pets? I doubt they would be made to face crows often enough. Strays/Wild? why would you care for making armor for them? where is the gain there?
Yu Armor is a highly counter productive idea, it's not a good one and neither it will give you as much money as you say. Concept Wise, it maybe better to use Kevlar and such, but again, why would you make it? where is the gain? When you think about it, there is none, unless it's a yukkuri of war scenario and you want your military yu to have a basic protective gear.
Actually, making it out of hard plastic, like bike helmets, would be more than enough to ward off crows, and the Yu would still be able to move(probably XP). But you're right about limiting their movement abilities if it covers their underside as well, and if it doesn't cover their undersides, Crows(being surprisingly intelligent) will probably learn to just flip the yukkuri over, thus negating said helmet. .... The helmet would even serve as a nice 'bowl' for the crow to eat the yukkuri from. XP

And that without incluiding the lack of real economical gain out of the idea, since the only ones that would pay for such things, pet yu owners, probably don't need it.

not true, members of pety may purchase these and give them to wild yukkuri, marketing is war, you have to take any buisness you can get from any group that is willing to purchase legally
