Well i must admit that was a quite original way to deal with yukkuris, not sure if it would be that good for a bigger group, unless you really play it as stealthy as an Assasine Creed or Metal Gear Solid.
Still, it was interesting to see someone using the cable way of killing, must admit until now i never considered the effects of cables and similar stuff (aside of ropes which we already know) on yukkuris.

You only need to do "slowly slowly" and the little fucks will never know what it them
though this would be dangerous for people too. The point of setting up these sort of wire traps would only be useful on private property where you know the direction in which a yukkuri would come in.
Hmm poweryoga i wasn't talking about trap wire, it was "killing" with wire, you know, like in those movies on which killers use wire to strangle or plainly cut the necks of people, and in more unrealistic fictions, they may be used to cut out limbs through some form of martial art and such. In this case it's rather easy to use wire to slice the manjuus out of their "slice easy" nature.
Basically how it was used in this story on which you see the "unknown mister" preparing the wire to tie and slice the yukkuris.
Other than via strangulation, I've never heard of wires being used to kill even in the movies. Manga/anime is the only source that comes close to something like that and they've been parodying themselves for decades as a result.
Piano wire is also used for cutting soap and hard cheeses, so it's far from impossible to use it to decapitate a human, what with the squishiness of flesh, gaps between vertebrae, and whatnot.

One word: Bones.
I won't say that its impossible, but the amount of pressure that would be required would humanly impossible without mechanical assistance. But, if we're talking about yukkuris...
That's why i said in more "unrealistic" fiction, they are used to cut down limbs and such, and usually there is some mumbo jumbo "vibration logic" martial arts or sci fi wire weapon technology behind it.
In realistic scenarios, the closest thing you can do with it as cutting, depending of the kind of wire, is mainly making the victim to bleed out or cough blood by cutting arteries and all that bloody stuff.
And thats why I said "they've been parodying themselves for decades as a result."
I'm not trying to bring logic into fiction, but when the "source material" is being parodied by its own industry, applying it outside of that niche is just going to cause confusion.

The thing is, this is actually portrayed in other media, and not just in Japanese manga and anime industry. The concept of "razor wires" is a staple in sci-fi and most fiction with unconventional portrayals of violence.
For instance, one application I always see is the idea of a wire trap, where a fine length of really strong wire is stretched at an area, decapitating or dismembering the mook that runs through it without seeing the trap. And no, this example was not from an anime.
Indeed, the first thing i pictured while thinking of razor wire/garotte was some american spy/assasines movies, anime was barely a second thought. In fact, i think american and european fiction use more the wire than japan, if anything japan only has a few notorious example of "non traditional" killing with the wires, but in this story, they use the traditional Garotte way.
British secret agents during WWII were rumored to use so called Gigli saw — a thin, flexible wound-wire saw with embedded diamond or corundum dust, widely used in surgery for bone-cutting — as a shoelaces. Very similar in thickness and construction to a piano string (it could be substituted by the one in a pinch, in a matter of of fact), it could be easily used for garroting, but just pull it by one side — and Off With His Head!
There were also traps used by both sides where a string is stretched across both a road to take down cars and motorbikes
I'd bother to look them up, but I have a feeling you're trolling.
Charles Bronson movies that involve decapitation with wires use mechanical assistance.
James Bond movies never deal in decapitation.
And no, I'm not trolling. You just hear a lot of fucked up wire injury stories when you hang around fishermen but learn that all of them require mechanical assistance to do any real damage.
The wire doesn't have to cut bone. It has to - and can - go through the gaps between neck bones, severing the spinal cord as it goes, and leaving out the other side. We tested this on butchered pig bodies once; it was pretty gruesome.
