This kind of behavior from humans would result in the child getting whacked something fierce. No parents I know would put up with this shit for a second.
Why do yukkuri think this is okay? Their children attacking their parents could actually do substantial damage if they were big enough.

For some reason, most Reimus seem absolutely enthralled with their Wasas and willing to give them a free pass on just about anything. Probably because the bushy braids make them different enough to be "special" but not so different to make them "defective". Mother Reimu here seems to be out of it from being on the verge of heatstroke (or whatever the yukkuri equivalent might be) anyway. Even if she'd do something about the tantruming baby normally, she's too drained.
Reimu moms in general, but especially the shithead ones, seem to just ignore the shitty aspects of their kos personality especially if said ko is a Reimu. Wasas, like uneasy said, get almost revered levels of treatment for whatever reason, though there are rare cases in which the "bushy-bushy" braids are seen by other yukkuri as wrong or uneasy.
Even though human standards shouldn't be applied to yukkuri behavior, favoritism exists in humans too... this is already off topic but let's not forget the fact a lot of (human) parents do put up with and in fact, enable this sort of behavior.
Are there any posts showing wasas getting rejected for their braids? I'd be interested to see that.
I think I've seen pretty much everything here and there and I can't recall ever seeing that. It could be as interesting a premise as a yu born without an accessory.
