It's interesting how the protection law is actually detrimental to yukkuris, because the law (or the land it creates) will convince the yukkuris that the world is safe, or (since most of them seem to be shitheads in this artist's universe) that the world is a slave to them.
Then, when dangers come along (not just abusers who can dress up in wolf's clothing, but also environmental dangers like cars and bugs) yukkuris think that those dangers will stop (a developed version of "mr wall please get out of the way) because 1) those dangers 'respect' the yus or 2) the yus are powerful enough to overcome the danger.
It's similar to, but not quite, the human parallel (of our tech world) - the main difference is that yus are active risk-takers while humans are not. What do you do when a yu jumps from a high place, believing that it can fly or that the ground won't hurt it?

Yukkuri die so often due to their own stupidity, as well as other animals, that this really isn't as much of a problem as you'd think. Sure, some of them are so retarded they'll jump off cliff, but that will happen regardless of whether or not humans are around to actively hunt them. As for the 'humans respect yukkuri' thing, something similar happened to the real life Dodo bird, who was completely unfamiliar with humans and got hunted into extinction because it kept trying to interact with them - but in this case, it's more likely for yukkuri to just arrogantly believe they'll be adopted as pets, only to be ignored and die of starvation. There are more ways of punishing their idiocy than just hurting them physically. Again, yukkuri die all the time because of their own stupidity, so population growth for them is extremely unlikely.
Yuyu! Reimyu ish going to have a lot of fun!*plop*Yukkuchi it's a landing pad!Yuyu~nEven then, the yukkuris here have absolutely no guard against humans...Towards koyukkuris, the norm is to use a striking swatter with controlled damage!Yu!
