I like the simplicity of the mostly-vertical hole in the ground yukkuri nest as opposed to this design.
Details like the non-flooding food storage area, or the tree flawlessly suspended by its roots, or the thatched roof, is too much. The garbage pile area and the floor (sans compost comments) seem the more possible inclusions.
This is out of scope for practically most Yukkuri. It appears this would be the kind of nest used by the rare farmer Yukkuri, who are more intelligent than normal ones and would keep compost for their plants.
No, I think that they're just yukkuri, their food is going to tumble into their shit hole and they'll either starve(if it's winter) or have to get more (if it's any other season).
If there was a cover, there would be more of those scribbles he calls an entrance cover.
Putting the trash hole/toilet so far from the entrance or in the nest in the first place seems like a recipe for disaster, given how yukkuri seem to react to the smell of their shit.
looking back at my previous comment, this isn't commonly accepted as i thought before. The fact that yukkuris live under trees and hide the entrance is common, but creating a separate space for food and waste, and making sure the entrance is narrow enough that a remirya would get stuck are things i've never seen and are indeed too intelligent for a yukkuri to think of.
Making the narrow entrance seems like something a "smart" yukkuri might think to do but then it would backfire as they'd outgrow it and be trapped inside or unable to get back into the nest.
Might be a story idea in there. Parents unable to get out of the nest without hurting themselves each time. Less and less food being brought back every day. Cue children eating parents or leaving the nest and bad things happening.
