The story was not structured well I guess, at least deviates what it should be. I don't understand why Chen was just a miscellaneous role in first part but became the host in latter half. And shit head's switching from scheming mother to avenger of rage is unconvincing.
In the picture's description, Takumi's apologizing for the abrupt end like in his previous long running comic. The guy's a trooper so even if it's abrupt it's better to just end it there than keep it dragging on so I won't give him flack over it.
It's artist burn out, people. You should expect this to happen when you have such a labor intensive work standard. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love his work ethic but drawing all that detail and not get paid for it can only result to you hating what you originally started.
I just hope he knocks it off with his extreme detailing so he does not get bored working on a single page for god knows how long.
---- I was expecting there to be a reveal about Reimu's nature now that she has that horn-hat thing sticking out of her head. All that build up to end like this, takumi might be planning to continue this in a different story (let's hope).
It does make me wonder if he does make paid mangas. He has skill superior to what I have seen being sold worldwide in manga, but the demand:supply ratio for artists is so much against the artist, so I would not be surprised if he doesn't have a paid job for a particular series.
If Takumi set up a Patreon, I'd send Takumi money. :3
Anyway, the idea of the horn is that she was becoming an oni -- her anger and hatred were turning her into a demon yukkuri, but her body couldn't take the uneasiness generated from this anger and hate.
I want to believe that this is the origin story from "monster reimu" i don't know what's the name that reimu that look buff as fuck and disintegrate yukkuris with 1 punch
The end.Even if she had caught sight of something on the edge of her vision, she wouldn't have decided to do anything other than just standing there.Eventually, the world dyed a shade of orange, which faded into blue. A half moon floated in the sky, littered with countless twinkles.Reimu has died. She went while being the embodiment of rage.Came with it was wings that glittered like gems, and a burning crimson stareOne of those twinkles flew a trajectory as if it had been dancing, and dove right down to Chen's side.It could be said that she was uninterested in them.
It could be said that she was unintereted to even her own end.
She kept still, and only gazed ahead.
Straight ahead, towards Reimu, and Reimu only.Who were they, for what reasons were they approaching; such things can be understood even by newborn little ones, but Chen did not move. She didn't even intend to.Following Reimu's death, Chen stood before the yukkuri that had continually given her what she desired and paid sincere tribute while enjoying the easiness.Easiness felt with a smile.Even in moments when Chen was torn, gnawed and swallowed, she felt easiness in them.As what Reimu brought forth gave Chen a joy that exceeded any and all pain.Chen should've been in extreme pain, but even so, she did not budge an inch. Not even a scream was heard. Then fangs, as sharp as blades, tore Chen's body into pieces.Chen continued to enjoy the easiness.
