The gist of the story is like this: Fem anon is a factory worker whose job is to deal with yukkuris that annoy humans (maybe home yu - not so sure about this). One day, she encountered a faint wild cat, which was wounded pretty badly (imply that he/she was being abused). She adopted it. One day, that cat brought home a stray Reimyu. Fem anon found out that Reimyu was being abused by some humans (focus on the accessory). After treating it, she adopted her, just like the cat. At first, Reimyu was very happy because now she has a nice owner, a friend, a place to call home, food to eat, water to drink, and most of all, she now doesn't have to fear predators, humans, wild animals,... But, wounds may heal, scars remain. She's now having trauma about the time she was being abused (don't know how she got out of there in the first place, maybe the story has an explanation). One day, she's going to the park with her owner and her friend, when fem anon reached out to take her out of the basket, the trauma kicked in again, she hallucinated fem anon as anon, the one who abused her, and just like all other yukkuri, she tried to run away, just so happen that there is a bike, and she's running toward the road. The rest is history.
Anyway Cosmos got a few things wrong. The cat was injured, yes, but I can't see any implication about abuse. It's normal for stray cats to get hurt while trying to survive and I didn't try to translate the text.
The final scene with the Reimu running away has nothing to do with Miss. The owner went to the park with the yukkuri and the cat, no one else. She had left the basket on the bench while dealing with the cat, so a courious child peeked in, tried to grab Reimu, Reimu got scared and started panicking.
Overall this is a well done story. I want to see it translated as much as possible. It seems like you either luck into a nicehead or you get one that has been traumatized into being obedient with severe ptsd...
