Yesss, I was hoping Takumi would get back to this series.
Really looking forward to learning more from Mohawk-sensei.
Damn, understanding jawless Maricha is hard.
I'm utterly positive it wouldn't be able to make anything other than guttural noises, if that. No tongue and no ability to open or close the mouth means minimal ability to alter the sound of wind passing by.
...honestly I'm not sure if it would be able to make ANY noise, but...y'know. Pastries.

No longer having any internal cavity from which to expell air probably doesn't help either. And yet there seems to be something resembling a "hurt-hurt" and a "save me" in the mess of sounds it's making. Because magic I guess.
I like how the parents and the rest of the family are utterly unaware of their dying child literally within line of sight of their little singalong. Ten feet away, tops.
Maricha can see them. Why can't they see Maricha? Are they stupid? Want to die?
I appreciate the translation, I really do. And I understand that the slurring going on on the ko's lines must be ridiculous. But it would really enhance the reading if someone could take the time, even if only for the sake of completion. Thanks in advance! :D

Well, in my case it's less about taking the time and more about not understanding. :) This is beyond slurring, you have to guess the syllables from the vovels.
Panel 2, bottom-right is probably "nandeee?" - "whyyy?"
P2, top-left: "Why <ha-hyaha> hurt-hurt nanoje?" Is it "karada"? "hara ga"? I don't know.
P2 bottom-left: No goddamn idea.
Panel 3 I'm pretty sure is "Save me nanojee!!"
And after getting stabbed in the paste core, the rest just looks like wordless yukkuri screams like "yunyaa" and "yuhiii".

Probably because they are hiding it with a branch so the family can't see the komarisa
