anko0765: One Miraculous Morning
Late at night, a drunk salaryman plucks a sleeping stray koMarisa from her home, intending to give her to his child as a little gift. However, he stops to piss against a cinder-block wall, sets the Marisa down on top of the wall, and then forgets her when he rushes off to catch the last train home.
The next morning, the parent yukkuris find their missing child crying in terror on the top of the wall, and they can’t figure out how to get her down. Little Marisa is targeted by a hungry crow, but miraculously, father Marisa pulls a nut out of her hat, spits it at the crow, and hits the crow in the eye, driving it away. Next, a cat sets its sights on little Marisa. Father Marisa doesn’t have any more nuts to throw, and puffing does no good, so mother Reimu begins hurling her body against the wall. The blows don’t move the wall, of course, but miraculously, Reimu’s screams drive the cat away. Finally, father Marisa remembers a friend who works in the delivery business and has a U-Pack--the flying box can rescue little Marisa! Marisa rushes to her friend’s shop, and although the U-Pack is out on a delivery, her friend promises to send it over as soon as it comes back. Marisa rushes back to the wall, where Reimu and little Marisa are happily singing and awaiting the impending rescue. Marisa thinks about how fortunate the family has been this morning.
And then a gust of wind blows little Marisa’s hat off, she jumps after it, and--”It’sh wike Mawisha ij fwying in the shky!”--she falls to her death on the ground below.
