A machine that automatically dispenses things (usually consumables such as food or beverages) when inserted with money.
Gutter trash yukkuri tend to gather around vending machines. Vending machines usually to have a trash can nearby to throw away the consumable product and so it's a good spot for trash raiding. Sometimes a vending machine has a gap below it which also makes it a decent shelter. Plus since humans gather around vending machines it can be a spot for begging though this mostly gets them killed.
