Unsold Reimu
Summary:
Story starts with Reimu performing rolling and singing for a bunch of different customers, but never getting sold. She tries harder when she finds out that she's going to get sent to the factory, but it isn't until the last day that a guy buys her. The shop assistant girl notes that the guy kicked away a wild yukkuri on his way in.
Back at the guy's house, Reimu is asked on what she can do. Rolling, singing, doing stretch-stretch on a palm (but she has already gotten so big, so it's not cute). But eventually she says she can be abused, but asks what abuse is. She soon finds out, getting poked and prodded, starved and kept in darkness...
Eventually he tires of her and abandons her away. She gets taken in by a clan, and have five little ones with Marisa. However, her singing brings another human, whom she doesn't know to fear. Because of that, her little ones get crushed, and Marisa leaves her because she refuses to believe that humans can be uneasy.
Reimu thinks that she wants to see the people who picked her, even the Anon who bought her just to abuse her, because she was needed then. Reimu decides to look for the kind shop assistant, and manages to make her way back to the store. However, the girl has stopped working there. Not believing it, she makes a fuss and gets thrown into a cage to be taken to the factory.
There, she has her ribbon and hair removed, and put into a compacter. She notices a similarly treated Marisa, who tells her that pain is coming, and begs for help. But Reimu refuses to do so, saying it has nothing to do with her, and that hearing Marisa talk about it is making her uneasy. After Marisa gets crushed, she finally realizes the same thing is going to happen to her, and begs help from another Marisa, who replies in the same way she did earlier.
But the compacter stops due to a malfunction, and a worker takes Reimu out. Reimu says she wants to see the shop assistant and abusing Anon because they could take it easy, and says she believes that mister factory worker can take it easy too. That's when the worker removes her mask... to reveal the shop assistant.
Miss asks Reimu why she's here, but when Reimu says she wants to take it easy with Miss, Miss says she wants Reimu to die. Miss has hated Reimu since long ago, having to clean up Reimu's excrement, being bothered to put stuff in Reimu's cage for her to play with, never getting any thanks for what she did for Reimu or apology for things Reimu did to her. She wanted to hit Reimu, but couldn't. In fact, Miss was happiest when she found out that Reimu would be taken to the factory, but was shocked when Reimu was bought at the last moment, though the thought that Anon was an abyuser comforted her a little.
Reimu doesn't believe it, because Miss's hand is shaking, but Miss tells Reimu that people shiver when they're REALLY happy. That's when Reimu denies that Miss is the same Miss from the shop, but Miss explains that she cut her hair to work at the factory because she could get to see yukkuris suffer and die.
The compactor gets fixed, and Miss puts Reimu back in, telling her to scream lots for Miss to hear. As Reimu gets crushed, Miss tells her that she'll help Reimu if Reimu does her best smile. But no matter how much she tries, the pain of getting crushed just fills her expression with suffering.
Eventually, Reimu gets reborn... as a food item. Half of Reimu's face shows a wide smile, but the other half wears an expression of unimaginable suffering.
