This is autumn, and despite the busy yukkuri doing their crucial preparation for winter, every some time they stopped and admired the beauty of the falling leaves.
In this mountain, there is a small clan led by a smart Patchouli. Under her leadership, the yukkuri can somewhat enjoyed enough easyness every day. Not too much, but also not lacking of it.
Even so, there are individuals who can't fit in. Marisa, an expert hunter in the clan, is one of them. For an unspoken reason, she's exiled of the clan.
But human rarely came to this mountain, and there's just enough food, so the life of Marisa and her wife Reimu is not that bad.
Their eldest daughter is a Marisa. This Marisa admired her father very much, fueled by the memory of being saved from a Remirya by her father. Every day she wanted to be like her father and run around in the nest to train herself under Reimu's caring eyes.
Marisa still can't go out to hunt, but her father already said that soon she will teach little Marisa how to hunt and they will get many munch munch.
If there's something, that is KoMarisa doesn't have any friend. She's born after her father is exiled and the only other yukkuri she ever met outside, a Patchouli, said they should never talk to each others.
From the reaction of her parents, KoMarisa understand that the topic is to be a taboo in their family.
Instead, Marisa plays a lot with her younger sisters.
The second daughter Reimu, is a reliable kid and Marisa believed she will be a good wife in the future.
The youngest sister Marisa's age is separated further than her two eldest sisters and she's rather spoiled. She cried and laughed often and is the mood maker of the family.
Finally the day came when father Marisa took Marisa out to hunt. First, they greeted good morning to Mister Sun three times.
After being taught, Marisa tried her best to hunt, but she failed. At the end of the day, she only get one small mushroom, and that's what her father found for her.
Father Marisa told Marisa when they're going home, everyone would fail in their first time, even father Marisa is like that. But then she learned a lot.
Marisa grow up to an adult without hurrying, the good adn relaxed growth pace fitting for a yukkuri.
Between the spoiled youngest sister and the energetic elder sister is the only KoReimu in the family. Unlike the eldest Marisa, this Reimu is closer to her mother.
Reimu often helps her mother in the house, learning things about house chores.
Because of the influence from an Alice, mother Reimu is really skilled in doing "coordinate". Today, she taught the little Reimu how to make "Mister Dish" by folding leaves using her tongue. At first, Reimu only rolled the leaves inside her mouth, so mother Reimu then showed it in easier to understand way.
That night, the eldest daughter Marisa's dish is different from usual. Reimu presented the dish she made for her sister.
The youngest daughter Marisa cried that she want one too, but that's a story for other time.
Youngest Marisa had an inferiority complex towards her two older sisters.
Unlike her two older sisters, she felt like she can't do anything at all. Well, she should start from learning to do poo poo on her own.
She asked to go hunting with her sister Marisa, but her father still can't let her. Maybe, lots of tomorrow after. Both parents can only do rub rub and stroke her gently with their braids.
One night, the eldest sister Marisa woke the youngest Marisa. The eldest Marisa found a flower field during her hunt, so tomorrow, together with Reimu, they will go there together.
The next day, they just say "going to play easy" to their parents and go to the flower field. There, the youngest Marisa want to munch munch, but Reimu told her not to.
They will make flower ring and present it to daddy and mommy. Then, their parents will surely praise them for being such an easy children.
Back at home, the parents are really happy. They rub rub and enjoyed an easy day in their nest.
A professor and his assistant came to the mountain. The assistant is a part timer who want to get paid while enjoying abyuse.
The professor know this mountain and the small clan led by Patchouli.
No, they are not going to exterminate the clan, that's not good. What they do is simply population control. Middle sized clan are put under surveilance by the officials and large sized clan are, well... need to be adjusted or else they will cause problem to the nature.
But small sized clan are not put under any surveilance. They pose no immediate harm to the nature and their natural death can still replenish the soil nutrition.
This time, they're asked by the owner of the mountain to prune the yukkuri population. They will start with the strays outside the clan, that is the yukkuri who are exiled or exited the clan.
They will even have a guide to find them. The leader Patchouli came personally to guide the professor to that Marisa's house.
The reason is because of winter preparation. As the leader, Patchouli calculated the food supply that can be gathered and her clan's population. When the population is too many, then there will be need to prune away the excess.
Later right before hibernation time, there will be a re-calculation and probably the need for another pruning.
Yes, if just all clan can be this prepared, the professor told his assistant.
First, they throw firecrackers to wake them up.
Seeing the human, father Marisa stand to protect her family while mother Reimu asked her children to enter her mouth. This is what the Professor has been waiting for.
But the eldest daughter Marisa stand to fight with her father, at least until she got flicked on her forehead and run in pain.
The professor then forced Reimu's mouth to open. He installed two transparent board, one to the throat so Reimu wont swallow her children.
Then, he put a jack to force the mouth opened wide and installed another transparent board in front, making it like an aquarium.
The children doesn't understand, but seeing their father "play" with the human, they think the danger has passed and they sing together inside Reimu's mouth happily.
Reimu is in panic. She understand well what would happen if the children stayed too long inside. It's proven ten minutes after when the children felt a change to their feet.
The mouth became sticky and their feet is melting. In panic, the children tried to run away, but they can't break through the wall.
Five minutes after the children realized they're melting, he cut open a hole to Reimu's cheek and told the children to escape from there. Of course, all is too late, they can't have the strength to climb out anymore.
Eldest daughter Marisa has a dream, which is to be the best hunter, more than her father. That dream melt with her in her mother's mouth.
Second daughter Reimu has a dream, to be proposed by a Marisa as cool as her sister and take it easy together. that dream melt with her.
The youngest Marisa has a dream, to become the next leader in Patchouli's clan, make it big and rule the world.
Tasting sweetness in her mouth, mother Reimu despaired.
The Professor killed Reimu immedieatly after by piercing her paste core.
Marisa asked why the human do that. The Professor explained, this is an extermination. But what made Marisa deserve this ? She's just taking it easy.
Of course, Marisa doesn't deserve the extermination, at least until she break her clan's rule. That rule is to have only one children. In special terms, they can be allowed to have two. If this is not enforced, the food in the mountain will be exhausted.
Patchouli had asked Marisa to kill the babies while they're still fruits, but Marisa insist to keep the children. She decided to get out of the clan.
The clan exiled her and everyone found to help them will be punished.
Marisa has a dream, which is to see her children go out of the nest to live on their own. They will then have more children, grand children, great grand children, all over the world.
At the end of their life, all their family will gather and rub rub with them. They will go to face Eiki and for making so many easyness, they can live in yukkuri heaven.
All the dream ends when the nail pierced her eye and paste core. That moment, Marisa realized in that moment of eternity, it's all just a dream. That's why at the end of their life, they always say... "want to take it easy more..."
