anko3434: It Was Simply Mysterious
ただただ不思議だった
Summary by Wrathkal:
On his way home from a tough day at work, Anon is accosted by three yukkuris, a Marisa, a Reimu, and a Patchouli, who insult and make fun of him. He finds them mysterious, like why would they pick a fight with humans as if they thought they could win. Their actions are different from actually threatening him, and he decides he wants to know more.
Seeing that they have confidence in their victory, he starts asking them questions. Marisa is only too happy to tell him how she's going to kill him, going on and on. Anon goes to find a stone bigger than Marisa, and brings it back
"Which one is bigger, the stone or Marisa?"
Jeering, Marisa replies that it's the stone. Anon continues to ask, which one is heavier, is the tree taller than Marisa, and every time Marisa answers correctly, showing that she can identify size and height right, while the yukkuris make fun of Anon for being stupid. The final question is what would happen if he put the stone on Marisa, and she admits that it will crush her.
Anon then asks it to compare him and the stone, and Marisa answers correctly again and again. Finally, he asks what would happen if he gets on top of Marisa. Hearing her answer correctly, he notes that she hasn't yet made the connection.
"That's right, Marisa. For me to crush you, I don't have to tackle or stomp on you. I just have to get on top of you."
"Yu?"
Yukkuris judge everything based on themselves first, in things they can and don't understand. That is why they challenge humans, or challenge yukkuris bigger than they are, because they don't know the difference. But once they learn the difference-
"YUAAAAAAA!"
Anon now asks a fearful Marisa if she can destroy the rock, and she answers correctly yet again. So what about him? Marisa is unable to answer, but she says that a rock can't move, so it can't win over Marisa. But Anon points out that Marisa isn't picking a fight with a rock, she's picking a fight with a human who can move. Hasn't she seen humans walking, jogging, running while she lived in the park?
Marisa squeaks, and Anon finally asks why did she challenge humans if she can tell that she can't win? After all, "You can tell by looking", right?
Reimu claims that she isn't involved, but Marisa protests that Reimu was the one who said to steal sweets from Anon. However, Reimu counters by saying it was Marisa who challenged him. Patchouli nervously tells Anon to take it easy.
Anon is smiling. He too, doesn't know about yukkuris. That's why he wants to know, because it would help relieve the stress in his mind and body. He tells them that he'll happily accept the challenge, including Reimu and Patchouli in it.
On that day, the screams of three yukkuri could be heard along with the joyful yell of a human. Anon has learned just what sort of things yukkuri are.
