One Year in a Farm - spring
There is a pair of Marisa and Reimu. Both just married before the winter and both decided to hold back from having children until spring. But in the end, they can't and had three children, one Reimu and two Marisa.
Like a yukkuri, they take their problem lightly. They thought they have enough food and both could eat less to give their children. Marisa and Reimu really underestimated koyukkuri's metabolism that consist of endless cycle of move-eat-shit-move-eat-shit.
Their food supply has runs out and now the babies don't even have enough strength to do anything but weakly cry for food.
Now, although winter has subsided, spring hasn't really arrive yet. There's no plants growing nor bugs coming out of their hiding.
Marisa decided to go to the only place that would give them food, Mister Human's easy place. Even though the leader has warned them not to go there, this is a dire situation. Surely Mister Human would let them when seeing their cute little ones.
When Marisa and her family arrived, there's no human in the farm. Of course, being still so early, planting season hasn't begin and the farm is as bare as anywhere else. The promised food is nowhere to be seen.
Marisa panicked. The youngest Marisa has started to show sign of anti-yukkuritis and Reimu do her best to calm her child.
When Marisa runs around, she found big block of straw. A lot of Mister Straw, but there's also white white Mister Powder scattered on it. That powder tasted bitter.
Marisa forced herself to chew on the grass, making it soft. Marisa's parent taught her this, when chewed and mixed with a lot of saliva, the food can become sweeter, at least edible by koyukkuri.
Hurriedly Marisa bring back the chewed straw and the children eats happily.
Reimu went to help Marisa and chew more straws, making it soft and sweet for their quickly recovering children.
Suddenly Marisa remembered something. They almost forgot to do house declaration. It would be really troublesome if someone else took this place just because they forgot to do a house declaration.
Unfortunately, the children collapsed and starts convulsing. Marisa look at Reimu, but she's in the same state. Reimu asked Marisa to look at their children first, she can still hold it.
The children are weaker. Assaulted by the pain, they convulsed and struggled until finally the vomitted their paste.
Hearing her children is dead, Reimu gave up and died.
The Farmer arrived later and bump to Marisa who's running back home from the scene. He's not really angry because there's no damage done, after all, there's nothing but soil in the farm right now.
Marisa cried, why did her family dies. The Farmer saw there black stump that looks like yukkuri corpse. He then asked if Marisa ate the straw.
Marisa asked if that Mister Grass is poisoned. Yes and no.
The grass are food for Mister Soil. Besides, too much of something is not good, just like Marisa enjoys bath but would be dead by rain. He didn't mention that even human or animals would be dead if they eat fertilizer, but Marisa would die soon anyway. Not long after, Marisa's cries are cut short by pain spreading across her body because of the fertilizer she ate previously.
