Yukkuri are commonly portrayed as having a weakness to water. When submerged in it or are caught in the rain, they will often melt. How long a Yukkuri can be drenched in water before melting away typically depends on the story, often ranging from a very long time to mere moments.

Koyukkuris are particularly susceptible as they can melt even in very shallow puddles or when drenched with just a few drops of water.

Nitori and Murasa types are commonly portrayed as having an immunity to water. Shell Marisas are sometimes also potrayed to be immune to water.
