shit pit

A large hole in the ground that some yukkuris dump their shit into. This stops the shit from clogging up the yukkuris' homes. Often located not far off from their home.

Wild yukkuris are taught from birth by their parents to use the holes outside of their nests.

Shit pits can pose a danger to yukkuris themselves as they are often too deep for koyukkuris to escape by themselves if they fell down. This is especially dangerous considering koyukkuri tend to perform a dance before they shit and therefore can easily accidentally fall or knock another koyukkuri down. Depending on the size sometimes even adults who fell can't escape.

Yukkuris who live in a clan often have one shared shit pit. In a clan's shit pit, sometimes unwanted yukkuris are thrown into the pit as punishment and must eat the shit to stay alive. As yukkuris tend to be arrogant in nature, having shitheads in shit pits makes them feel better about themselves as they look down on them condescendingly.
